Slo-mo physics…
I took gymnastics in college. I was athletic and fit and strong, but back then I was too tall. I also was not limber. I considered it a victory to walk across a balance beam and not fall off. I did better on the pommel horse because I had a lot of upper body strength and could get a lot of lift and push from it. I thought I had done well to fold myself up sufficiently for a flip and not fly off into the wall. I had to watch Simone Biles double-double in slow motion twice before I could even begin to wrap my head around the extraordinary feat she has accomplished. Watch here and marvel.
