Disunity pays…
Lefties love money, they just never want to spend any of theirs, and they want to use government and deception to rob you of all of yours. The latest example is Linda Sarsour requesting donations for the Harvey Hurricane Relief Fund, which will channel your gift o the Texas Organizing Project Education Fund, a nonprofit that advances racial and economic justice through community and electoral organizing.
I’ve already made a donation to the Salvation Army — I know where that money is going, and it will help those in Texas who need it, not enrich some far left progressives trying to destroy my country. Make sure you know where your donation is going!
And why…
…would anyone who thinks our nation is in moral trouble select Al Sharpton to lead a march entitled “One Thousand Ministers March for Justice” ?
They wouldn’t, of course, but I am amazed that the tax cheat, crook and race-baiter had some 3,000 ministers register to march with him, even by piggybacking onto the 54th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s March on Washington and his “I Have a Dream” speech. That tells me that the clergy in America is in a lot of trouble….If you read the excerpts from Sharpton’s remarks, you’ll agree. In the meantime, the rest of us need no lectures on morality from the likes of Sharpton.
CREW lies again…
That’s Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington , in case you didn’t know that CREW, like so many lefty groups, is laughably misnamed. The bunch filed a FOIA request for all of Steve Mnuchin’s travel records, alleging that the Treasury Secretary and his wife planned their usage of a government plane around last week’s eclipse to get a better view from the sky. Like most of CREW’s claims, it wasn’t true, but the couple did view the eclipse from the roof at Fort Knox.
Easy to fool…
If you tell us that a bottle of decent quality wine costs more than it really does, we think it tastes better. You can’t use that trick with truly cheap wine, so we aren’t total idiots, but I’ve seen it work often enough with all sorts of foodstuffs, cars, cosmetics to know it’s a real thing. If you’ve ever shopped at Whole Foods you have seen something similar, because you know they are charging you through the nose for cutting up your fruit,. leading to the nickname “Whole Paycheck”..
Many years ago I found several inexpensive wines that I truly enjoyed, and I have pretty much stuck with them. They run between 9 and 14 dollars a bottle, so I can enjoy the occasional libation without breaking the bank. That leaves me enough money to splurge on a good single-malt Scotch when that’s what I want.
Just be aware of the many marketing weapons available to be employed against you and make sure your common sense and reason are fully engaged no matter what you are shopping for.
Since we began with wine, let’s finish with it, because man has been making it for thousands of years, along with a lot of other foods.
Ghe Sparemo…
Shout “Allahu Akbar” in Venice and get shot per the Mayor’s orders. It’s not politically correct, but I applaud his bold efforts to take care of the citizens of this watery city and its many visitors.
Prager sells out…
The Santa Monica Symphony had a fundraising concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. Its guest host was conservative radio host Dennis Prager, who is absolutely passionate about classical music, and who has been a guest conductor for various orchestras.
With boring predictability, liberals called for a boycott of the performance, supported by the mayor of Santa Monica and a city councilman who said they wouldn’t attend. Just as easily forecast, some of the musicians refused to perform, with two of them penning an open letter saying “Dennis Prager is a right wing radio host who promotes horribly bigoted positions,” which naturally served to point out their own left-wing bigotry. And all the extra attention drove sales up, so the event was a sell-out!
Read what Dennis himself had to say about it, here.
ESPN is crazy…
ESPN has pulled an Asian man named Robert Lee from announcing a University of Virginia football game lest it upset someone. His name became a political issue only because ESPN made it one. My advice to Mr. Lee is to find another job.
I was wrong — ESPN isn’t really crazy, it’s just plain stupid!
Trump on killing terrorists…
Oh, how fine it is to have a president who understands that soldiers are meant to kill bad guys and break things. Who believes that field commanders should have the flexibility to fight effectively, which requires rules of engagement that actually allow them to fire weapons without approval from the White House after going up a very long chain of command and being vetted and considered by a large number of people who have never dodged a bullet in their lives.
President Trump very smartly used the examples of unity and common purpose consistently displayed by our armed service members to encourage unity amongst the American people, but don’t think for an instant that the Lefties in the media — but I repeat myself, don’t I? — will give the man much credit for it, and they will forecast failure instantly.
I don’t find Sen. John McCain’s praise for the speech helpful, since he mischaracterized the malfeasance of the Obama Administration and to some extent his own previous criticisms of Trump, but I grudgingly give him credit for the praise. I was far more interested in the view of Rich Lowry and that of Quin Hillyer, and Roger Simon, with the most interesting being from the Conservative Treehouse.
