Well, it didn’t, but it has revealed a frozen female, and a very special one if you believe the Russians’ claim that the carcass contained liquid blood and some muscle tissue. I don’t know how reliable 10 to 15,000 year old DNA might be, but the next Jurassic Park movie might feature a real woolly mammoth.
We shall see later on in the day, but AG Eric Holder’s attempt to coerce media in an off-the-record meeting appears to have failed, since some biggies refused to attend a meeting they could not report on. You’d expect FOX to refuse, but the AP and the New York Times?
At this point, I feel scant sympathy for MSM, which has spent five years slavering over His Oneness and refusing to report on anything which might possibly put a scratch on his halo. Only when it found out it had also been targeted, not just FOX News, could it muster a screech of righteous indignation and dig up its long-unused collective copy of the Constitution, covered with a foot-thick layer of dust. When it shows of sign of doing the duty for which the First Amendment was granted, perhaps I’ll locate my crying towel. In the meantime, I look forward to the revelation of more goring of their oxen.
Jonathan Tobin has penned a column which should be required reading for everyone over age 14. Palestinians do not want peace and the benefits it brings. They want to drive the occupants of Israel into the sea and celebrate their drowning, much as they danced in the streets upon hearing the news of the 9/11 attacks on America. Liberals appear unable to comprehend this, but even though I find John Kerry a perfectly awful Secretary of State and a generally pompous ass of a human being, I am indebted to him for finally proving this point by offering the Palestinians $4 billion in economic aid and having it promptly flung back in his face.
Even if they added this brutal jewel by Robert Spencer, their worldview won’t allow for the fact that there are certain groups of Muslims who have for so long marinated themselves in hatred of Jews and infidels that they have no reason to exist beyond killing them. Their desperate search for what they have been taught is honor reveals only pathology and evil.
…before you read that some furloughed federal workers can collect unemployment.
The Port Authority has released this breathtaking photograph taken from the top of the new World Trade Center. What a view!
A Japanese gentleman is now the last man living who was born in the 19th Century. Jiroemon Kimura is also the oldest living human on the planet as far as we know. There are still 21 women living who were born before New Year’s Day, 1901.
To me, Rolling Thunder is the declaration of this day of remembrance. The ride has done much to change the hate the military attitude engendered by Vietnam, and deserves credit for it. Unfortunately, many monuments to the military are crumbling away, from lack of funding to be sure, but basically from lack of interest. Other memorials are defaced, attacked.
Sometimes voices speak to us from long ago. Sometimes a toothache led to the most astounding operations. We honor the fallen, not in the patently insincere photo-op of His Oneness, but with a variety of remembrance and of celebration of the veterans still with us, and some of the wounded are truly helping others.
Here’s some history of this holiday. If you want to understand what Gold Star families go through, read this,, then watch the video of the song. Dry your tears and listen to a new rendition of the Star-Spangled banner, or your favorite version of God Bless America.
