Arizona…

leave a comment »

I have collected a number of pieces since there’s so much hysteria about the new Arizona law on illegal immigration.   Start with Arizona Rep.  Raul Grijalva,  who wants everyone  to boycott his state in  protest.    Do remember he is a former community organizer if you think this is especially stupid.   Bear in mind that Arizona didn’t invent non-citizens having to carry their papers  —   that’s a federal law.

Kris Kobach takes a far  more measured look at the bill,  while David Broder’s panties are  in a wad.   A former  DHS official talks to NRO,   and other denizens of The Corner weigh in  here and  here.

The WaPo predictably found a pair of lefties with clerical collars to bemoan the slighting of our  Christian duties.    Be reminded there is no such thing as a religious lefty,  because the left has no room for true religion.   Mark Krikorian  points to a blistering new piece from Michelle Malkin, and an old one from Frank Gaffney.

Andy McCarthy find the law legal,  but  wonders if it will work.   Apparently it  already is working,  but  Nanny Bloomberg is hysterical.

Finish on a  lighter note.

Blago to Obama…

leave a comment »

John Kass deciphers the  message for us.  If you want to know what was magically unredacted,  go  here.

In their motion to subpoena His Oneness,  Blago’s  lawyers claim His Oneness lied twice.   Only twice?   ABC News breathlessly ponders if His Oneness will testify.    Without a teleprompter?   Not a chance.

Sen. Dick Durbin has also received a summons to court,  and is naturally trying to  downplay the entire event.

Cartoonists chicken out…

The promoters of  “Everybody Draw Muhammed Day”  have  dropped their gag.   I figured it was one,  but thought it well past time to tell extremists Muslims we will poke fun at them if we want to.    However,  I did indeed draw Muhammad,  with the help of Mike Lester’s connect-the-dots  sketch.

Unlimited bailouts….

It appears Rep.  Brad Sherman has  actually read the Dodd financial reform bill and knows what’s in it,  unlike the Treasury Secretary and His Oneness,  unless,  of course,  they’re just lying.

And  tucked away in the voluminous bill is a provision which would effectively give control of the Internet to the FTC,   yet another reason to call your senators and scream bloody murder   —  in a polite, reasonable tone,  of course.

Dems are lazy and stupid…

leave a comment »

Nutty Nancy called a  press conference to pat herself on the back for blowing $140,000 of your tax dollars on new lighting so efficient it will take barely 10 years to pay for itself,  by adjusting lighting against the amount coming in the windows.

Pelosi said that the new lights in the cafeteria would make the Capitol a “shining example of sustainability” and green technology.

Doesn’t this prove that Democrats are too lazy and too stupid to use light switches and to adjust window shades themselves?

Read Patrick Michaels’ piece on the  global-warming tax in all its job-killing glory.    Steven Milloy has a related read on killing the coal industry  here.
