Flooding hell…

leave a comment »

Ellicott City, Maryland is  once again  subject  to severe  flooding,  only two years after the last onslaught of Mother Nature.

About all the poor residents can do is pray  that Storm  Alberto doesn’t make it all the way up from Florida.  The Gulf Coast is already on alert and the interiors of Southern states are beginning to come on line.  Those of us with friends and family in low-lying areas are already moving them to higher ground.  As long as FEMA and company stay out of our way we’ll resuce all those who need it.

Alan Bean, R.I.P.

The  fourth man  to walk on the moon has died at 86 years old.   Bean was once quoted as saying he had the nicest life in the world.  I would like to think he is flying higher than ever before.

In California…

leave a comment »

..90 days house arrest is considered justice for raping a five-year-old girl.   At least it is if you  have money  and influence and no morals whatsoever.

The perpetrator and the prosecution deserve to live in a state at the mercy of MS-13 and ther hordes of other illegal aliens they allow in,  robbing their own citizens and legal residents to assure themselves a continued grip on power.   It appears none of them are aware of Dame Margaret Thatcher’s favorite saying on socialism:  “The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

I am beginning to wonder if California will run out of paying people before the people run out of money…..

Shhh!

It’s a secret!   Remember when Democrats held such a huge lead in the generic ballot question that a blue wave election was forecast which would give control of Congress to them, and allow them to impeach Trump.

The Blue Wave narrative is looking more like a fading swirly at this point,  and no mainstream news media are willing to tell you anything about this latest Reuters/Ipsos poll.

As Deroy Murdock  points out,  Republicans are their own worst enemies, but  their defeat is written only across the brains of the delusional.

Trump is the room…

leave a comment »

Jesse Kelly,  no original fan of Mr. Trump,  has written an  interesting  piece  explaining why Trump is able to command respect in a way Barack Obama never could.   As someone who worked for corporations for many years,  I can attest that some people walk into a room and instantly own it.  President Trump can and does.  Mr. Obama never could,  being far too busy pretending to be someone and something he wasn’t.  The only time Mr. Obama was truthful was when he abandoned his ever-present teleprompter for a few seconds.   I said of him early on that he had never paid for anything his mouth  had purchased.  That is still largely true,  though it may be that he discovers he can’t throw enough people under the bus quickly enough to save himself.

Mr. Obama was a golden child,  happy to bask in the adoration of others without having done anything worthy of such love.  Mr. Trump has spent his life dealing with sharpsters, crooks and politicians — but I repeat myself.  Like me,  Pres. Trump would rather be feared than loved.

Things dogs should never eat…

leave a comment »

If you have a little ankle biter, you should probably adhere to  these rules,  If you have sturdy mongrels or real working breeds,  maybe not.   We had all sorts of animals when I was growing up on a farm and every last one of our dogs went for wild onions as soon as they came up in early spring.  As for grapes, we had wild muscadines and scuppernongs growing on a fence about 300 feet long.  All of our dogs would graze up and down the fence when the native grapes were ripening.

Neither activity ever made a single one of them sick.   None of them were less than 40 pounds, and most of them were mongrels, except for the bird dogs and German Shepherds.   I would  take this with a grain of salt.

Aztec death whistle…

leave a comment »

This is not the scariest sound I’ve ever heard,  but this odd screech is very strange, and yeah, a bit spooky.   A  death whistle  seems perfectly in keeping with the Aztecs,  don’t you think?
