Crenshaw on spending …

Former Navy SEAL and first-term Congressman Dan Crenshaw has a cogent explanation  for the perennial spending orgy in Congress.  It is well worth your time and might help you  target your efforts against the spending more efficiently.

Chick-fil-A to the rescue!

leave a comment »

The staffs at this chain of tasty eats is always pleasant and courteous and efficient,  and if your child is  being choked  by a seat belt,  you had better hope you’re at the drive-through of one of its locations.   And this is not the first instance of a Chick-fil-A employee saving the day.   I’m going to reward them —  and myself —  with a sackful of their good eats today.   I enjoy giving my custom to a company which doesn’t think that literally saving a life is anything extraordinary.   What about you?

Hair protection…

California has cities with homeless enclaves and medieval sanitation levels,  along with the resulting medieval diseases,  but they declare progressive greatness because they’re about to become the first state to ban discrimination based on  unique hairstyles.    People should not be treated badly because of their hairstyles,  but I should note that few of the most creative pieces of work are traditional for Africans or others. Then there is the problem of certain occupations in which it is deemed too dangerous to have facial hair (think firefighters) or long hair (industrial production lines).

In the meantime, why not demand the clueless politicians clean up the streets and enforce the laws which make most people color inside the lines?  At this rate,  it won’t be long before California is composed entirely of illegal aliens, the homeless, and the politicians.   States not run by progressive Democrats have jobs and affordable housing and transportation.   I wonder why…

2019 D-Day, Part VIII finale…

leave a comment »

So few now remember  the waiting  on D-Day,  the need to hear if the invasion was successful,  if your loved ones lived or died.   But they waited by the millions.

Star Trek actor James Doohan  (“Scotty”)  was on  Juno Beach that day.  Her is the  story of  a man who did not become a famous actor.

Look back over the commentary of this 75th anniversary celebration and you’ll realize we are in another war,  a culture war,  the outcome of which is as important as World War II was.

I stumbled onto the perfect bookend for this series of remembrances,  D-Day veteran Carl Mann was buried at Arlington National Cemetery on the 75th Anniversary of the Normandy landings, the perfect ending for a soldier who  was awarded three Purple Hearts and seven Bronze Stars for his time serving in the 5th Infantry Division of Patton’s 3rd Army.

Remember…

Trump got game…

leave a comment »

After the co-captain of the U.S. women’s soccer team has refused to act like a normal American,  suffering from an extreme case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.   Having recently declared she would not go to the White house, and she doubted the team would be invited,  she set herself up for a fall.  Trump  has invited  the team to the White House,  win or lose.

A liberal reporter (yeah,  I repeat myself) shouted a  Russia question  at Trump on the White house lawn as he was heading to the G2 Summit.  His response was dead-on perfection.

What a 4th!

Democrats have been screaming since Pres. Trump announced a few days ago that he would be making a speech on our national holiday and the celebration would be huge.

It will certainly have the most fireworks of any display, including the 1976 Bicentennial Celebration.  This is because Phantom Fireworks and the famed family-run Fireworks by Grucci  have donated  a second display for the event, added onto the traditional 20-minute display by Garden State Fireworks.

Progressives will lose their minds over the gifts made by two of our nation’s largest pyrotechnics companies.

2019 D-Day, Part VII…

leave a comment »

Here is  a reprint of an August 1944 article in Popular Mechanics explaining how D-Day was planned.   It is well worth your time to gain an understanding of how  complicated  planning a war was.   It still is.    All that toxic masculinity  saved the world,  which should be much more grateful for the Greatest Generation.

Most journalists were surprised to find that many of the veterans of that historic  battle support  Pres. Trump.   One of the British vets  even flirted with our First Lady,  who smiled graciously at his audacious charm.

Some French villages still honor Americans.   That includes the only church in  Sainte-Mere-Eglise,  the first village liberated by the Allies.  One must not underestimate  the power  of memory.   I am somewhat surprised that Congresswoman Speier was moved by any of it.
