Census citizenship…

leave a comment »

Should states that harbor masses of illegal aliens be rewarded with your tax dollars?   I bet you don’t even realize that they are,  though if you live in California,  you may be beginning to suspect  that your vote does not receive full value,  even if the illegal immigrants do not cast a ballot.

Let’s face it, the  dilution of   a vote is just as grave as a vote illegally cast.  Please let Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross know that you demand the citizenship question on the 2020 Census,  and that you view the complaints from politicians from the worst devaluers of votes  — think New York,  Massachusetts,  California,  and Connecticut.   Your hard-earned tax dollars should not be awarded on the basis of warm bodies located within a state —  or in the case of  Chicago,  probably cold ones as well.  Defend your vote!   Commerce Department link is   here.

High fashion drones…

leave a comment »

One of the world’s most prestigious fashion brands  used drones  to carry its new line of handbags down the runway at the ‘Secrets & Diamonds’ eveningwear event on Saturday night.    You might be aware that our First Lady wears a lot of Dolce & Gabbana fashions,  and looks gorgeous in them.

I am no clothes horse or fashionista, being most comfortable in jeans and T-shirts,  but the drones strike me as the perfect way to show off the purses.   You don’t have to coach models how to present them or worry about the models’ clothing providing a less-than-optimum backdrop for the merchandise.   And hey, let’s face it — the use of this technology is very cool!

Linking photons for light…

leave a comment »

Scientists do some perfectly amazing things.   Even if you don’t know what the heck photons are,  you can appreciate that a group of physicists coaxed individual photons to cozy up to each other and link,  thereby producing a  new form  of light.  For me,  the most appealing aspect is that they don’t know exactly why it works.

When is public not public?

leave a comment »

The 11th Circuit court generally displays some judicial restraint and common sense,  unlike the lunatics on the 9th Circuit,  but three of the justices appear to have misplaced their tiny little brains by declaring that public streets  and sidewalks are not public spaces sometimes.

Art wins…

A federal judge has  suspended enforcement  of Mount Dora, Florida’s fines against the owners of a home painted with Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” theme,  ruling that such punishment would cause “immediate and irreparable injury” to the owners.

The city has gone from saying it didn’t care how the owners painted the wall on their property, to saying the house had to match, to levying large fines.   Constitutionally stupid,  and very bad publicity for a town which prides itself on its artsy features.

Ham sandwich indictments…

leave a comment »

Robert Mueller can now say he has accomplished something.   It helps his career,  but as the saying goes, you can indict a ham sandwich with sufficient effort,  so it is a big pile of meaningless nothing.   None of the Russian mice will ever go to trial,  so no one will ever know whether Mueller had a good case or a lousy one.   None of the Russians will ever return to the U.S. using their own name so they will never be arrested.

Why would anyone think Putin actually cared who won the election?  He only needed  to cause chaos  and dissent,  which he did to some extent,  and which he continues to do because of the stupidity of the Democrats and their desperate efforts to protect His Oneness and Queen Hillary.

Billy Graham, R.I.P.

leave a comment »

If any man on earth  deserves to  rest in peace,  it is Reverend Billy Graham,  who spent most of his life preaching the Gospel.  He made the most of the technological advancements as they became available during his long career to enable him to reach  a huge global  audience,  and he went to most of the world to promote Christianity.   Like the rest of mankind,  he had his flaws,  and did some things for which he apologized,  but he never satisfied the progressive churches who wanted him to espouse their social justice causes and politics.

He will always be despised by liberals  — just witness the WaPo’s attack,  characterized  here.   MLK’s niece,  Alveda King,  has  a much  different view,  as do  many others  who actually knew Graham.
