WHO on Sweden…

leave a comment »

The WHO is claiming that Sweden’s ” relationship  with its  citizenry”  is what enabled it to succeed without locking society down.   What Sweden did was not what WHO tried to make everyone do.  The experts were all wrong.  We should have relied on herd immunity and sensible precautions,  and protecting the most at risk.   Sweden did that successfully,  and so did Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida.   Florida has a high population of senior citizens,  yet their death rate in that state was a fraction of that experienced in New York because the governor focused on the correct populations and precautions.

I hold the WHO in the same low regard as I do the United Nations.   Both are cesspools of corruption and incompetence with buckets of evil thrown in. The UN is already demanding that greenhouse gases  must be  addressed to change the world.    If you support the WHO you are ignoring its lies and deceptions and intentional misinformation — things which have caused many thousands of death from COVID-19.   You will also be agreeing with the Blue State governors who have handled this crisis by making it an even worse crisis,  stripping citizens of their natural and legal rights to acquire the total control they lust for.  They are incensed by the protests demanding the economy be restarted because they want a basic income so that you are totally dependent on the government for your very survival.

As Attorney General William Barr said,  the Constitution is not suspended during a crisis.   Understand your rights, and if they have been restricted without cause,  demand their restoration.   Remind politicians that when as government loses the consent of the governed,  it falls.   I think in this instance, it is the politicians who will fall,

Beer dogs…

Six Harbors Brewing Company got hit hard by the COVID-19 lock-downs,  but Buddy and Barley,  the owners’ beautiful  Golden Retrievers, are happy to  deliver beers  to customers’ doors.   if I lived within the delivery area i’d order beer just to see the dog delivery team!   Admit it –  you smiled….

Gen. Flynn exonerated?

leave a comment »

Attorney General William Barr directed the U.S. Attorney to review FBI personnel communications and notes, and  it appears no  one liked  what they found.   In fact,  the entire case is collapsing, and the Obama-era DOJ and FBI will be stained because of their illegal and treacherous behavior.  A slap on the wrist won’t do.   Every last one of the culprits should be tried for their crimes and tossed in a very unpleasant prison.  Their lives and the lives of their families should be made at least as unpleasant as that of  Gen. Flynn and his family.

I hope AG Barr keeps squeezing until His Oneness pops out of someone’s forehead.   Robert  Mueller and  his entire staff can go first.

UPDATE:  Go  here for  some of the strong language Flynn’s attorneys used in their latest filings.   I proise you it is extremely well deserved.

WITH vs. FROM…

leave a comment »

I have repeatedly warned of the difference between someone dying FROM coronavirus and someone dying infected      WITH coronavirus.    A number of people and institutions benefit from an increased number of deaths caused by the virus and are more than willing to cheat and fudge the numbers to their advantage.

The Pennsylvania Health Department  has included   “probable”  coronavirus deaths, or an assumed COVID-19-related death without testing for the virus,  to its death tolls.   But coroners in the state are demanding accuracy,  resulting in 200 deaths being removed from the total.  The State Health Secretary  is spouting  cover-her-ass nonsense about totals changing and confirmed cases and review of methods,  blah,  blah,  blah.   I’d have  far more respect for her if she just said  “We’ll get more taxpayer money if we have more COVID deaths.”  That is simply true,  if deplorably cold,  uncaring greed.

Yes,  governments and the politicians in them lie.   Yes,  government bureaucrats lie to cover their asses and remain unaccountable.   You may pay their inflated wages and fund their overly generous benefits and retirement schemes , but few of them are willing to acknowledge your existence,  much less your value.   Act accordingly!

Most dangerous place ever…

leave a comment »

If you think your piece of the world is dangerous,  sign up for a trip to Morocco 100 million years ago.   Scientists say you would have just  been a  mere snack for the monsters roaming the area back then.  We have our own modern-day monsters,  but they tend to be other people,  not one of the dinosaurs who topped the food chain back then.

Gimme, gimme, gimme!

with one comment

A Florida school district  caught parents  selling online the free meals they had received.  Well,  color me totally unsurprised.  This is at least the third generation brought up to think the government generates its own money to give them free stuff with and neither knows nor cares that their fellow citizens,  called taxpayers,  fund the entire mess.  It is likely happening in every single schools district handing out free meals, which are supposed to go to students,  and for which the federal government will reimburse them,  but only for children’s meals.

I’ve noticed something else when local and national news roll footage of people picking up school lunches or of people in line at food banks or at charities:  I have not seen one old,  rusty, dented up vehicle at any of these places.  I realize Obama’s idiotic “cash for clunkers” program removed thousands of older,  but still serviceable models from use, meaning low-income people could no longer afford to purchase a vehicle.   Way to go,  progressives!

My truck is 18 years old.  I had a car which was 15 years old when I gave it to a charity.  I plan my forays carefully and take excellent care of my wheels.   My truck is actually worth slightly more than I paid for it.   My point is,  what are people driving one to three year old cars doing in a line to get  “free”  stuff?   Come to think of it,  why do so many people on one form of welfare or another have gold earrings,  hair extensions,  and acrylic nails?  We clearly do not share the same priorities or value systems.   If there is any good to come out of this lock-down,  let it be to teach a bunch of people to live more sensibly,  and yes,  I do include you dear Generations X,  Y,  and Z.   It would also be helpful if the Democrats,  having displayed their authoritarian preferences so obviously,  got their teeth kicked in electorally this fall,  and if the rest of us got off our collective asses and set about restoring our republic before it’s too late.

Kevin McCullough has an  additional take  with more examples of bad modeling and inaccurate testing.

How testing works…

leave a comment »

This is an understandable article on what COVID-19 testing can and can not accomplish, and its very real limitations.  Most of those running about screeching “TESTING! TESTING!” don’t understand what the test can show,  much less what it means.   Not even virologists can say with certainty that having had the disease makes you immune to it, but the current view is that antibodies don’t recognize the whole virus.  Each antibody,  essentially trained to recognize a piece of a puzzle but not the whole,  binds only to a small piece of the virus.  Antibodies made by a person previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 may not recognize the parts of the virus used in a particular diagnostic lab test.   Or perhaps  the person’s immune system needed to develop only a small amount of antibodies,  beneath the level that a test could detect.   In either case, the test would show that the person didn’t have antibodies to SARS-CoV-2,  delivering a “false-negative” result.  Similar mechanisms could present a “false positive” result.  They are working with plasma from patients who recovered or showed no symptoms as a treatment for the seriously ill.   They are hoping that the combined antibodies will overwhelm the virus.

Testing is good for statistics.  It is helpful to know how many people were infected,  how many were asymptomatic,  how many cases were mild,  how many were serious, and  how many proved fatal.  The latter category will be tricky, as doctors are being urged to claim COVID-19 as the cause of death,  when an underlying health problem  actually caused the death of an infected patient.  We went through this same numbers game with HIV/AIDS, and to a lesser extent Ebola and other pandemics.  Medical facilities and health charities and governments get more more money if they have a pandemic and higher death rates.   If somebody lays some numbers on you,  ask if the patients died WITH or FROM COVID-19.  It makes a very large difference.

Some people have very robust immune systems.   I am one of them,  having nursed family members through rotavirus and norovirus,  neither of which I caught.   I have not had a cold in over 50 years,  and have never had seasonal flu.  I skipped the customary childhood diseases,  and my childhood was so long ago that they had few vaccines against them.  I can remember being given a sugar cube with Jonas Salk’s polio vaccine on it.  Remember that  polio was  never the raging epidemic portrayed in the media  (sound familiar?) .   Even during its height in the 1940’s and ’50’s,  ten times as many children died in accidents and three times as many succumbed to cancer.   It was still a very scary disease.  So is COVID-19,  but virologists and researchers are hard at work to learn how to defeat it.   They will succeed in at least taming it,  if not destroying it.

The experts don’t know it all, and are quite reluctant to admit how much they don’t know.    Take what they say with a large grain of alt and apply your own logic and common sense.   Be of good cheer and stay vigilant and prepared against those who are trying to use this crisis to destroy the economy and make you permanently dependent on the government for survival.  In the end,  I think we will find that the  lock-downs are  producing more deaths than the disease it is supposed to protect us against.

Let ’em eat ice cream!

leave a comment »

The Trump campaign has put out a  brutal ad  against Nancy Pelosi and given her a new nickname in the process.  Of course it will stick because she put herself in front of insanely expensive kitchen appliances and a gourmet ice cream collection.  It doesn’t hurt that she lied like a cheap rug the entire time she was trying to explain why she wasn’t really doing what you thought she was doing.  As for the ice cream,  well you have only to look at the rolls of fat her Armani dresses reveal when she doesn’t wear a jacket to figure out her husband isn’t getting much of the ice cream collection.  She might contemplate Hillary Clinton’s figure to determine if eating your way to success actually works…

No,  Donald Trump fights fire with fire,  and it takes a mere  75 seconds  to make Pelosi look like the snarling partisan elitist she truly is.  Megan McCain,  hardly a Trump supporter, calls  the ad  a “kill shot.”

Earth Day 2020 e-cards…

leave a comment »

I am no fan of Earth Day, but if you are,  the Smithsonian  has made  it possible for you to send an e-card to those who might appreciate it.

You might note that April 22nd is the birthday of Vladimir Lenin, a deliberate choice by the eco-Nazis in 1970.   That large hint as to the true aims and nature of the green movement has been covered up and ignored by most of the world.
