Democrats have poured millions of dollars and some Hollywood glitz into today’s Georgia congressional election for the seat once held by Rep. Tom Price, who is now Trump’s HHS secretary. They made a big effort in the recent Kansas election which Republicans won. Jon Ossoff is the Democratic vcandidate, but you will have a very difficult time finding any campaign material which mentions that he is actually a Democrat, which I think should tell us something about how Democrats view their own party’s branding these days.
UPDATE: Democrats must not like their chances if they’re resorting to stealing voting machines. New question: why did it take Cobb County two days to notify the Georgia Secretary of State about the theft?
UPDATE: I forgot to mention that Ossoff can’t even vote for himself today, as he does not live in the district he wants to represent.
UPDATE: Well, the votes have been tallied and Democrat Ossoff and Republican former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel will face off in a June 20th runoff, which favors Handel because the Republican votes won’t be distributed amongst eleven candidates. Apparently Democrats couldn’t menage to cheat enough even with some polling places suddenly extending their hours.
The dilemma for Democrats is that Kansas and Georgia were supposed to be the best targets for them and they have thus far failed. Ossoff at least recognized early on that the Democratic message wasn’t resonating and tried assiduously to avoid mentioning his party affiliation, but some of the others have already hoisted the party banner on high. As Jeremy Carl so succinctly put it, Dems couldn’t even conjure up a moral victory in Georgia.
The Hollywood lefty was no doubt in a sour mood because his latest documentary “Where to Invade Next” is a box office flop with an opening location average of less than $3,000. Compare that to Dinesh D’Souza’s current “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party”, which had an opening average of over $26,000.
Or perhaps Moore is feeling the panic after feeling the Bern. At any rate, he told Bill Maher yesterday that he thinks Trump will win this November. Given the latest polls, I suspect more than a few of his pals share that nightmare.
Hillary Clinton was expecting a coronation as she sailed easily to the presidency. Democrats were happy to have socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders run as a Democrat because they calculated he would make Queen Hillary look moderate and reasonable, despite the fact that she is neither. The superdelegates she has locked up are unlikely to desert her unless she is indited and they are ordered to switch their allegiance, so she will be the Democratic nominee.
But the latest polls show that she is in danger of losing California to her foil, and that is causing Democratic heads to swell dangerously, and show noticeable signs of incipient panic amongst the troops. One should note that most Democrats do not care that their likely nominee is under federal investigation and stands a very real chance of being indited for a few of her many crimes. They do not care that she endangered national security because she did not want anyone to be able to find out what she was doing. It is telling that His Oneness is attacking Donald Trump in speeches — it’s not because he has any fondness for his former Secretary of State, but because her legal jeopardy has the potential to damage his shiny little legacy.
Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe claims he is restoring the voting rights of more than 200,000 felons because of the state’s history of disenfranchising black voters. Rubbish! He has been governor since 2013, and could have made this decision any time in the past three years, so he is doing this to help his old pal Hillary Clinton in her bid to become President.
UPDATE: Doesn’t McAuliffe sound oh so morally superior and caring?
The Supreme Court, for a change, has reached the correct decision in blocking a racially discriminatory election in Hawaii.
Basically, certain interests in Hawaii are attempting to set up a new government representing the “colonized” native Hawaiians. They do not view American sovereignty as legitimate. Only “native” Hawaiians would be allowed to register and vote, which is what makes it racially discriminatory. Of course, the Obama administration took their side and filed a brief supporting the election, arguing that even though Congress has never authorized a new government on Hawaii comprised of the native race, the state should be allowed to establish one.
So His Oneness declares that states have to take the Syrian refugees, but Hawaii can discriminate on racial grounds and it’s perfectly fine. He has tumbled from utter hypocrisy to total insanity.
