Damn, it’s cold!

The Midwest is  a frozen  disaster.  I mean, when have you ever heard of railroad tracks being set on fire with switch heaters (the link has some amazing video) so the trains can roll?  It’s dangerous for man,  beast and infrastructure.  Some of the pix  are quite  educational.   And there’s one that’s just  too cute  for words.

Europe has not  been spared  by this winter vortex,  either,  but the climate change hysterics won’t be quiet for long — and  here they  are.   Pres. Trump had some fun by  calling for  global  warming to  return.   And if you wondered,  Hell has indeed frozen over.

Monkey mobs…

leave a comment »

The result of Kuala Lumpur wiping out forests because of its growth has been to drive the wild animals away,  except for  the gangs of long-tailed macaques,  which roam looking for easy food.  I find it unsurprising that these primates attack people they suspect of carrying food.  The monkeys will lose eventually, because I very much doubt the Malaysian government will arrive at any conclusion other than to exterminate the monkeys,  since they are already “culling” them.

Overall crime…

…fell sharply from 1990 to 2008, with rates less than half that of 1990. Similar trends held for violent crime and murders. All three rates began to plateau between 2008 and 2010,  and then they reversed.  What I’m telling you is that His Oneness  oversaw all three  crime rates rise faster than any other period in modern history.

The murder rate skyrocketed in Baltimore,  Chicago and D.C.  after Obama endorsed Black Lives Matters.   The cities the group was most active in had such stupendous rates that the national average increased even while the rates fell in rural area. in rural America continued to fall on decadal scales.

Funny faith…

The average clergyman has a far better sense of humor than any progressive or liberal I’ve ever seen.   Don’t believe me?   Take a gander at some of  these amusing  signs.

No Sweethearts!

leave a comment »

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching,  I am sorry to inform you that Sweethearts candy  will not be  available this year.    Necco , which manufactured the tiny heart-shaped candies adorned with sayings, went out of business last year,  and the Ohio-based Spangler Candy Co. didn’t have sufficient time to turn the conversation treats out after purchasing the brand in September.

It took Necco nearly a year of producing about 100,000 pounds of Sweethearts daily to have a supply to sell within a six-week period leading up to Valentine’s Day.   But be of good cheer  — Spangler intends to re-introduce the  to the market next year.

Frozen Niagara Falls…

leave a comment »

The entire fall line isn’t frozen, but  the water  is having to move over and around it.   It certainly doesn’t approach the the spectacle provided in 1848 when an ice dam slowed the water so drastically it eventually froze the whole thing over.   But it does provide a winter delight for those willing to bundle up and go there.

Boozy spill…

80,000 cans of Leo  beer spilled  out of a truck in southern Thailand and drew a mob of locals out before sunrise to loot the beverage.
