Left saving you money?

leave a comment »

Every time I read  this piece by James Mullin I laugh out loud.   He has taken the absolute determination of the Left to spend the USA into Third World status and made it useful and listed things he no longer spends his money on,  thanks to the Left and its ravening progressives.   It’s a useful attitude to cultivate this day and age.

Gray Lady guilty…

leave a comment »

Actually, the Gray Lady isn’t a lady any more,  but a cheap slut,  full of anti-Semitism,  hatred of any religion but Islam.   This is the  disgusting cartoon the Times published in its Thursday international edition.  This was the day before the day before a gunman entered a Chabad synagogue in suburban San Diego,  killing one and injuring three.

Applying the same standards the progressive paper used to justify printing lies and smears against candidate Sarah Palin,  it is now at least partially responsible for the synagogue shooting.   Thomas Lifson makes the case,  here.   It is always delicious to turn the hypocrisy of progressives against them.

And remember that anti-Semitism is on the rise around the world,  and it is not Christians who are responsible for it.   I was frankly surprised by the number of people and organizations  which slammed the paper.  I am totally unsurprised by the paper’s attempt to  avoid blame for its execrable  judgment and  utter lack of decency.   And now we know the shooter was an anti-Semite,  a Trump hater and not a conservative.   I wonder how the media will try to spin this unwelcome news.

Trump economy…

leave a comment »

…makes fools of  the experts —  again.   Remember that the experts forecast 2.5%  in between sighing heavily and prophesying doom and gloom and financial disaster.

It may help to remember that most of them nodded sagely when Pres.  Obama said the barely discernible growth brought about by his lousy economic policies were the new normal and the best we could expect, and gee,  wasn’t his economy just grand?

Does this all mean the recession has  been cancelled?

The Hillyer Plan…

leave a comment »

Quin Hillyer has some  interesting ideas on how to save Social Security and Medicare.  I look forward to reading his further columns on the subject.  I would first pass legislation allowing government agencies to talk to each other for the purpose of establishing who gets benefits and who should get them.

Gender surcharge fails…

leave a comment »

Self-described as  “by women, for women”, The Handsome Her vegan cafe,  which opened only a few years ago in inner city Melbourne,  has closed.   It imposed an 18% gender surcharge on mean and gave women priority seating.

Strangely,  it seems that poor service and less-than stellar cuisine while dissing half the population,  did not lead to rave reviews and massive profits.

Rampant ignorance…

leave a comment »

The New York Times is run by lazy,  arrogant idiots.  If you didn’t know what the body of christ was,  wouldn’t you at least Google the phrase to find out?  The super smart people who select what we are to read and wish to tell us how to think are so ignorant about Catholicism  —  or indeed,  any religion at all —  that they reported it as a statue.   The problem is that the priest they quoted was talking about  communion wafers,  which the faithful believe become literally the body of Jesus Christ when consecrated.   There are at least a billion Catholics in the world.   I’m not one of them,  but I knew immediately what it was by virtue of the fact that I have witnessed communion in both Catholic and Episcopalian churches.

I’ll bet you are also smarter than everyone at the New York Times,  aren’t you?

Easter worshippers…

leave a comment »

The Trumps  hosted the  144th White House Easter Egg Roll,  and added some new events to the festivities.

Meanwhile,  both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama,  who used the word “Muslim” in responses to the horrific slaughter of Muslims in a New Zealand mosque last month,  both  referred to the Christians slaughtered in Sri Lanka as “Easter worshippers”.   Apparently the Democratic Party is full steam ahead with anti-Christian bigotry.   They actually do worship events rather than observe them,  and few of them grasp the difference.

Earth Day 2019…

leave a comment »

It is embarrassing that Earth Day celebrations have been held for nearly 50 years on Vladimir Lenin’s birthday.   It is embarrassing how long so many people have accepted the  unhealthy brew of junk science,  politics,  and fundraising.   Instead,  they should all be thanking the USA for its leadership in cleaning up its environment.  Reliable,  affordable energy is the critical enabler of innovation,  and we are the only populous nation in the world  to meet  the World Health Organization’s standards for particulate matter.

We achieved this while the country’s population,  energy consumption, vehicle miles traveled,  and gross domestic product also grew dramatically.   Thank the free market and a society which values the individual instead of the government.   You’re welcome.

UPDATE:  I neglected to include  this sterling  piece,  which should be stapled to the nose of every climate hysteric,  beginning with AOC.

Easter 2019…

leave a comment »

First we begin with  a list of Easter candy,  ranked from best to worst by PureWow.   I seldom eat candy any more,  but I don’t have a major quibble with the rankings.

Once again I lack an invitation to the White House Egg Roll,  but I’m sure the 30,000 or so guests won’t miss me a bit on Monday.    But I’m getting a close up sneak peek at the 2019 Commemorative Egg which will be presented to the First Lady.   If you’re not familiar with the art of quilling,  it involves tiny strips of rolled up paper,  fine motor control,  some artistic talent, and a whole bunch of patience.  This year’s egg is quite beautiful,  as you can  see here,  and I hope the weather is perfect.   If by some chance any of the 7,000 eggs aren’t claimed,  they will be taken to local food banks.

NOTE:  I’ll be adding to this post throughout the day, as there are generally some fine photos or statements to share, so check back.   In the meantime,  a  Blessed Easter  to you all.   As usual,  terrorism  has not taken a holiday.

UPDATE:  If you don’t quite understand the mission of Jesus,  Trevor Thomas makes it clear  in this piece.   Nicholas Frankovich explains the suffering of the cross.   You might also appreciate  some thoughts  of Kathryn Jean Lopez on Good Friday.   And the Poles should remember it is Easter and  get over  themselves.
