i am a huge fan of first-class political cartoons, and A. F. Branco is one of my favorites.   This is  why.

Portland police push back…

leave a comment »

Antifa thugs had set fire to Portland’s North Precinct Friday night and committed all the other crimes as they have done elsewhere.  But on Saturday night,  when the rioters were trying to barricade the Central Precinct,  Portland police in riot gear  marched forward,  using their batons and body blocking to move the rioters aside.   Many rioters  ran away from the cops,  no doubt wishing to protect their tender little snowflake asses from some baton taps.  The part I liked best in the video is the white woman trying to confront a smaller police woman.   The lady cop does not give one inch.  Good for whoever allowed the cops to do their jobs!

Brand limitations…

leave a comment »

Sen. Bernie Sanders has more than once said we had too many choices and that no one needed 20 different toothpaste varieties to select from.  Of course,  under his democratic socialism there would be only one brand and its shelf would be empty most of the time.   Some people do grind to a halt when presented with a plethora of choices,  but most of them can be guided to considering what’s available then using personal preference and logic to actually make the decision they have been avoiding for quite a while.

The difficulties of maintaining social distancing when cranking out various types of frozen food meant that some lines of consumer brands  were halted  when COVID-19 hit.  Manufacturers concentrated on the most popular items they could produce and get shipped efficiently.  Meanwhile,  both retailers and consumers howl when a favored product disappears.   If you have children,  you probably keep some frozen pizzas in your freezer.   I am childless,  though I do have a slew of young visitors,  so I keep some too.   Many of the paused items will likely return eventually,  but if peoples’ preferences change,  there is no guarantee.   Bernie Sanders should love this —  reduce choice by disease so no one can blame you for a feature of your brand of politics!

Land and sky…

leave a comment »

It you live in Norway, you’d be wise to determine if it’s located on a clay bank and liable to slide into the sea as this village has  done.   Fortunately the residents of Alta were able to escape and a dog washed away was rescued by a helicopter crew.  Heavy rainfall can make clay unstable to the point it can’t hold onto itself or anything else, and you often get entire slabs of land sliding down a slope.

In less dangerous examples of nature, try a very rare  red rainbow.   This phenomenon in Birmingham, England was due to the sun appearing to be lower in the sky, so light travels a longer distance through the atmosphere.  That gives rise to the red appearance of sunsets because the shorter wavelengths – blue, green, and yellow – are scattered,  leaving mostly red hues.

Lock-downs killed…

leave a comment »

The per-capita death rate for the coronavirus is  75% lower  in states that did not panic into lock-down mode.   That means that Speaker Pelosi’s  insane claims  about the GOP being responsible  for murder are actually backwards.   Yes,  the states that didn’t panic were mostly smaller,  more rural states,  but the Democrats and their media handmaidens want you to believe that if you have COVID-19 you will die.  At the same time,  they are reluctant to point out the communities and cultures and age groups now reporting more cases.  Guess what:  the more testing you perform,  the more cases you will discover.   Gov. Andrew Cuomo continues to lie about how many deaths his orders caused, and the Dems all pathetically claim the lock-downs and other restrictions are to protect the citizenry!   And keep in mind that research shows that thousands of travelers carried coronavirus from New York to the rest of the U.S. in early March, which is responsible  for 65% of  cases.

Democrats are desperate to keep the lock-down going and economies closed because they believe that  no one will remember that Pres. Trump got the economy going to start with.   The DNC is terrified that blacks and other minorities will recall that they enjoyed the lowest unemployment rates ever.   The media is driven to misinform and outright lie to further that agenda,  and thus they pressure Republican governors to do the same stupid stuff the Democrats are doing.

Most of them are resisting that pressure,  some magnificently and gloriously.  The Democrats have already put themselves on record demanding we taxpayers should bail them out financially.  No thanks – their budgetary problems are caused by crony capitalism, corruption, incompetence and deliberate malfeasance.  They have invited the riots and looting and assaults and chaos so let them deal with their own hideous creations and the consequences of the same. Tell your Congress critters, newspapers,  and the President your views.

You think you have…

…it tough?   You may,  but try being  a black  conservative.   You will be called Uncle and deemed a racist  (no,  I can’t explain how that makes sense),  and if you’re the lovely and whip-smart and tough Candace Owen,  be accused of being a black white supremacist  (no, I don’t know how that works either).    In other words,  your black ass belongs to the Democratic Party and you’d better get in line and vote right.

Larry Elder, conservative talk radio host,  attorney,  bestselling author,  and political commentator,  wants to disseminate the message that blacks have the right and the duty to think for themselves.   To that end he has executive produced and co-written a documentary entitled Uncle Tom.

It was premiered on Juneteenth at an invitation-only private reception in Texas.  “The film really is attacking the way the Uncle Tom term is commonly used to demean people that have rethought their assumptions to the Democratic Party,” says Elder.   That would make it 106 minutes well worth your time.  There’s a link for pay-per-view at the end of the linked article.

Have some  further words  from Larry Elder.

Facebook caught…

…very firmly in the  undercover grasp  of the Project Veritas and Cognizant,  the latter having begun winding down its content moderating agreement with Facebook.    I think it is quite safe to assume that the majority of Facebook employees,  contractors and moderators are still carrying on just as before.   But you knew that,  didn’t you?

2020 Belmont…

leave a comment »

It was certainly a horse race,  but  it wasn’t  “the Belmont.”  COVID madness kept the stands empty,  the concessions closed,  and the excitement level barely registered.   The Belmont is the longest of the three Triple Crown races, and is always the last one.   I wonder if having the longest race first will affect the young horses less than it has previously.    Normally a May event,  the Kentucky Derby is now set for September 5th, and the Preakness for October 3rd.

A garden bomb…

What a shock to be digging in your  Maryland garden  and find a live World War I bomb.   It more than likely came from the Aberdeen Proving Ground,  but it has been disposed of safely,  and the couple can garden in peace,  they hope…
