Pamplona opens…

…with over 50 people requiring medical attention.   Only five were hospitalized,  but two of  those gored  were Americans.   One suspects that most of these participants imbibed some of the wine and champagne the many thousands of party-goers showered each other with at Chupinazo,  the official opening.

No injuries were reported among the bulls,  even the one which stumbled near the end.   You might want to consider that cattle can run nearly 30 mph,  though i’ve never seen a full on stampede at top end at Pamplona.  Unless you are a good runner and sure-footed, you are more than a little likely to end up trampled or knocked into a wall at the event.
