Obama, climate wizard…
Obama’s science adviser, John Holdren, is hitting his stride as chief Chicken Little — I mean, global warming hysteric.
For an overview of renewable energy, go here. Mary Hutzler is the former head of the Energy Information Administration.
Then look at a useful presentation by former top Energy Dept. official Steve Eule on the size and scale of the “greenhouse gas problem” here.
Iain Murray at The Corner (National Review Online) points out that “one person who does not believe we have the technology ready to go is Energy Secretary Steven Chu, who is quoted in Greenwire as saying:
‘Perhaps at the end of this century we could get renewables — and energy storage and transmission — on a plane where we can transition away from these others…But I don’t see this happening anytime soon.'”
He also provides a link to a New York Times blog where Mr. Chu displays “a cavalier attitude to intellectual property”.
The really odd thing is that Chu actually backs “clean” coal. He seems unaware that burning coal is many times cleaner than it was only a decade ago, nor does he seem to know that Bill Clinton put America’s cleanest coal off-limits.
