A dog named Bo…

Based on the clip NBC was running of the new First Dog, none of the Obamas are accustomed to handling dogs.    Indeed, one wonders if they have ever had pets at all.     I suppose it will be up to some poor soul in the Steward’s office to train the Portuguese water dog, which shouldn’t be a problem since they’re a pretty bright breed.    Training the Obamas will be a far more difficult problem, and require immense delicacy.

TARP insurance companies?

with one comment

Just when you thought the stupidity and cupidity of the Obama administration and Congress had played out, now they  want to gather insurers to their poisonous bosoms.

Small cars not as safe?

leave a comment »

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has issued a report pointing out that small vehicles aren’t as safe as large ones.

Very few of us needed a report to figure that out, but it will be interesting to see how the Obama administration ignores this information in its drive to force us all into tiny deathtraps.

I checked Department of Transportation statistics a few years ago, and they showed that the smaller vehicles caused about 5,000  more deaths and severe injuries annually, so I can’t imagine why this shocking news should surprise anyone.

Rightwing extremists…

leave a comment »

Liberty Papers has downloaded a pdf from the Department of Homeland Securit, ominously entitled:   “Rightwing Extremism: Cur-rent Economic and Political Environment Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.”

It  describes as potential terrorists those who  “”are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely.  It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

Well, that description covers me, most of the people I care to associate with, and a lot of military veterans.  HomeSec Sec. Napolitano is an idiot.  Instead of that lengthy file, she could have just said that anyone who didn’t vote for Obama last November is suspect, because that’s not far from its meaning.
