Revolt of the bourgeois…
You simply must read Rich Lowry’s sparkling piece on the polite, tidy people who attended Beck’s rally, and the equally determined Tea Party members who could not be there.
The National Mall was a garbage-filled mess after His Oneness was inaugurated. Contrast that with the spotless remains of the Restoring Honor rally. Or go back to the 2009 Tea Party 9/12 rally.
Responsible people pick up after themselves and others. The rest of you wait for the government to do it for you. Guess which group I’d rather be in? Yeah, the one composed of rational adults.
Boiling over…
Peggy Noonan thinks we are at risk of boiling over. She makes a number of good points, as she usually does, but I know very few people who are fearful, and very many who are mad as hell. Yeah, I’m one of them, and I’m angrier than most because I’ve lived long enough, and even spent enough time in D. C., to know that politicians at every level are hogs at the trough. There are damned few exceptions.
I submit that America is already boiling over. His Oneness would be quite pleased if the fury took to the streets and behaved like his buddies at S.E.I.U. and ACORN, but the Tea Party is composed mostly of sensible, mature citizens who value civility. They are also not stupid, and as countless homemade signs attest, they wield a powerful sense of humor.
NAACP stall…
The NAACP is now saying it won’t release its resolution accusing the Tea Party of racism until October, when its board grants final approval.
Meanwhile, Michelle Malkin whacks the group, along with Michael Graham and Deneen Borelli. Abigail Thernstrom points out the amnesia of the group, Tunku Varadarajan protests, and the St. Louis Tea Party retaliates with class.
Stop by Patheos for its 3-part series on the Tea Party.
The WaPo observes a bit of push-back, but sees the NAACP as merely trying for relevance. Joseph Farah calls it jealousy and provides some advice. Lloyd Marcus thinks it’s fear and resentment. You know it was a bad move when even lefty Cynthia Tucker bad-mouths it, and the right un-reverends Sharpton and Jackson work furiously to focus attention elsewhere.
NAACP votes on Tea Party racism…
I haven’t flinched in a very long time when accusations of racism are hurled, because very little of what the groups screaming about constitutes racism according to my definition. It looks like the NAACP is about to prove my point. I wasn’t surprised in the least when the group cut off its live webcast when the resolution came up for debate.
As Quin Hillyer says, the group is a corrupt collection of race hustlers. FOX is reporting the resolution slamming the Tea Party for its “racist elements” passed, but I’ll post a link to the full text when the NAACP gets around to releasing it.
Congressional candidate LTC. Allen West, who is black himself, blasts the group, as do the Washington Times editors, who add that Obama is anything but post-racial.
Understanding evil…
Dennis Prager has a knockout column on the failure of the Left to understand the evil of extreme Islam, while assuming that the Tea Party movement is evil itself.
Why Left talks about ‘white’ Tea Parties…
Dennis Prager has a great piece on the Tea Party. Since he inverts the Left’s typical argument, it’s sure to make heads explode.
He can’t hear you…
His Oneness and his VP arranged to be away f or the Tea Party protests in DC yesterday. Which is a certain sign that the president knew about them and had no intention of suffering a repeat of last year, when he was around part of the time to hear the Tea Party crowds.
In his away speech he claimed to be amused by the protests and said that he had cut taxes. Watch this video of Rep. Mike Pence getting a kick out of such Democratic claims.
Colbert King collapse…
Colbert King has made a perfect fool of himself with this rant of a column tying members of the Teas Party to George Wallace and racism. I regard this as a sign of just how spooked progressives are by the Tea Party and its growing influence, since the NY Times has joined in.
We the People are refusing to shut up and bend over, and MSM can no longer control the news by simply ignoring the voices of dissent, because alternative media does report on them.
Democrats appear psychotic in their efforts to change the subject while His Oneness still goes out to the hustings to tell us all what a wonderful thing he has achieved for us.
Tea Party refused entrace to Congress…
Now this is interesting. Expect the same “too many people in the building” crap we got last year from the Capitol Police. And just as happened last year, we will find out who gave the order.
