Clearview app…
Are you good with a system by which someone could snap your picture on the sidewalk then use an app to quickly discover your name, address, and other information? Too bad if you’re not pleased, because many law enforcement agencies are already using the system. The artificial intelligence has already grabbed over 3 billion pictures from Facebook, Venmo, YouTube and elsewhere. It the AI finds a match, it serves it serves them up with links to sites where those database photos originally appeared.
The FBI’s own database, which taps passport and driver’s license photos, is one of the largest, but has only 641 million images of US citizens. If none of this concerns you, please wake up, because it should. Law enforcement is already claiming the database has helped them solve crimes. Isn’t that what they always claim? There is a discussion in the House, but no bill exists to protect our privacy. If you want some protection, stay on your Congress critters’ asses.
