Jeter playing really big ball…
Not even the greatest retiring baseball players can expect this. I’m not the least surprised 43 showed up, either as a volunteer or fulfilling a request by the team’s management, but I wonder who at the White House is trying to figure out how to one-up the event. On second thought, maybe not, considering that His Oneness throws like a sissy instead of tossing one straight over the plate.
Holes at the end of the earth…
This desolate place is aptly called the end of the world, and now it has a hole leading who knows where. Scientists are currently baffled as to its cause. Now there are two more holes in this remote area of Siberia. These are fascinating phenomena, all the more so because scientists don’t agree on their cause.
UPDATE: I wondered when the green hysterics would get in on the act, and now they have, proposing a theory that global warming is causing the release of methane from the earth and warning that catastrophe looms! Of course, it’s just a theory, one which was once trotted out to explain the killer lakes in Africa, such as Lakes Nyos, Monoun, and Kivu, but they were found to be subject to limnic eruptions, which are massive ejections of carbon dioxide. Methane is also emitted by lakes, which has been known for years.
