Jeter playing really big ball…

Not even the greatest retiring baseball players can  expect this.   I’m not the least surprised 43 showed up,  either as a volunteer or fulfilling a request by the team’s management,  but I wonder who at the White House is trying to figure out how to one-up the event.  On second thought, maybe not,  considering that His Oneness throws  like a sissy  instead of tossing one  straight over  the plate.

Holes at the end of the earth…

leave a comment »

This desolate place is aptly called the end of the world,  and now it  has a hole  leading who knows where.   Scientists are currently baffled  as to its cause.   Now there are  two more holes  in this remote area of Siberia.   These are fascinating phenomena,  all the more so because scientists  don’t agree  on their cause.

UPDATE:  I wondered when the green hysterics would get in on the act,  and now they have,  proposing a theory that global warming is causing the  release of methane  from the earth and warning that catastrophe looms!   Of course,  it’s just a theory,  one which was once trotted out to explain the killer lakes in Africa,  such as Lakes Nyos,  Monoun,  and Kivu,  but they were found to be subject to  limnic eruptions,  which are massive ejections of carbon dioxide.   Methane is  also emitted  by lakes,  which has been known for years.
