Tea Party to UK…
The Tea Party movement is headed to England. Daniel Hannan has the news here.
I can guarantee you that most other coverage from abroad will be far less kind, but I’m curious as to whether the European press will mimic American MSM and try to ignore the people’s revolt. Any guesses?
Jump back, Joe Stack…
Predictably, MSM started branding the pilot who flew his plane into a building in Austin, TX containing IRS offices a right-wing extremist, and they’ve all been very busy playing off each other. I very much doubt any of them had read Mr. Stack’s on-line manifesto before publishing their blasts, as it hardly appears to supp0rt their claim, and I doubt they’ll ever read it, bothering only to pull out choice bits to prove their point, or to create excuses when they switch to the “very troubled individual” scenario.
In fact, much of the slams against private health insurance, George W. Bush and the Catholic Church has already appeared on every left-wing blog, as David Freddoso points out here.
There is a desperate attempt to link the dead pilot to the Tea Party movement in order to discredit the latter, because liberals and progressives hear We the People coming, and they hate it. The nerve of us regular Joes thinking we can tell the elites what to do!
Palin delivers…
…much more than a speech, which you can watch here.
You won’t be surprised that she was a huge hit at the Tea Party Convention. Mark Tapscott examines what Palin does. Matthew Continetti also liked the speech a lot, as did Grant Swank.
And now we can all go prepare splendid arrays of delicious not-so-good-for-you food for the Super Bowl!
Tea Party terrorists…
Democrats are terrified of the Tea Party folks, so of course they have set about trying to destroy the movement. And the effort comes from a very high level, as this piece clearly shows.
So when you hear Democrats and their media sycophants characterize Tea Partiers as crackpots and racists and thugs, be aware that they know perfectly well that the movement encompasses young and old, rich and poor, Democrat, Republican and Independent — that is precisely what frightens them so much. They don’t like We the People, especially when We get uppity and demand common sense and accountability.
Tea Party vs the media…
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs sniffed that they weren’t “aware” of the Tea Party rally. But the President certainly became so, since his chopper flew over some of the crowd as he began his retreat to Minnesota to repeat the same dreck he ladled out Wednesday night.
Now I ask you — who in their right mind wants an administration which is unaware of a crowd several hundred thousand strong just a few blocks away from the White House? Do they truly imagine that by pretending it doesn’t exist they can simply wish the protest away? They know they can depend on MSM to downplay the huge rally, and indeed only one besides FOX has managed to admit “tens of thousands” were there. Most simply said “thousands” — technically correct, but hardly a fair characterization of the real number.
Lucianne.com has a fine collection of videos from the day.
McCaskill vs. tea party…
Sen. Claire McCaskill’s aides held a townhall meeting that turned into a tea party. UPDATE: here’s a military veteran asking the senator for an apology for having ignored the Constitution and having the crowd stand up and roar. He knows far more about that document than most of the duly elected fools on the Hill and the entire Obama administration.
The Tea Party group that went to McCaskill’s St. Louis office had a male staffer give them the finger, the door was locked, the blinds closed, and staffers called the cops claiming there was a mob beating on the doors, according to a reporter appearing last night on Greta Van Susteren’s “On the Record.” What the little cowards didn’t know was that the group had several videographers taping the entire event, thereby proving the staffers were lying.
I’ll update when I find some better videos, but suffice it to say that Congress critters can expect a lot more of this during the August recess, especially when the actual critter is present.
Revenge for tea partiers…
Remember Susan Roesgen, the CNN reporter who attacked Tea Party protesters on the air at a Chicago rally? CNN didn’t renew her contract….
Tea parties…
There’s a rather cute song out, presenting itself as the national tea party anthem, embedded here.
There’s also a website devoted to tea parties across the nation.
There are also groups planning to mail teabags to the White House and Congress, but the post office is regarding them as “potentially hazardous material” and destroying them. So, rip off the actual bag and just mail the string and the little paper tag.
I think I’ll create a generic teabag on my computer and print it on postcards, so they won’t have to go through the decontamination process which letters must undergo.
If nothing else, I encourage everyone to call their Congress critters’ offices, and the White House, and let them know that April 15th is tea party day and you’re paying taxes under extreme protest. It would be nice to have the White House and Capitol Hill switchboards melted down as happened twice in the last amnesty for illegal aliens effort.
Have at it, Patriots!
