Loyal even unto death…

There’s  a reason  “dog” becomes a holy word when spelled backwards.  I find the average canine is better than the average person.   I despair of owners who treat dogs as fur people.   I’ve been a dog owner for more than six decades,  and though I’ve had some difficult dogs,  I’ve never had a bad one.    I’ve had a couple of purebreds,  but mostly mutts,  the Heinz 57 with the crooked tail,  or blind in one eye.   They have all repaid my care with enthusiastic companionship,  protection,  and a good deal of entertainment that sprang from a dog who reveled in being a dog.

And while you’re a bit sad,  read  this piece  by Rosslyn Smith.   Then see the dog who  ate ten grand’s  worth of diamonds.
