The real problem…
According to Gallup polling, 27% of us say government is America’s most important problem. What rock are the rest of us sleeping under? Review the chart to see what the rankings were over the last 19 years, then go educate your family and friends. Wake up, America!
Numbers game…
I can’t explain how this helps His Oneness either. Any takers?
I’m pretty sure these numbers don’t bode well for him either.
Freedom Index up a tad…
That’s what the latest poll shows, and that is happening in conjunction with the falling approval numbers of His Oneness.
Helping out..
Eric Allie shows silently how much His Oneness is helping his fellow Democrats.
Downgrade blame…
I didn’t listen to His Oneness on Monday, but I’m unsurprised that Brian Bolduc did and found him, as ever, blaming others for his own heavy hand of failure, while simultaneously claiming it on an S&P math error. Not even the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank, a reliable cheerleader for Obama, found the speech wanting.
The Democrats’ talking point this weekend was to call this a Tea Party downgrade. Considering that recent Gallup polls show that the percentage of Americans who expressly state that they are supporters of the Tea Party movement is currently about as large at 22% of the population as the 21% who say they are liberal, Ed Morrissey is likely correct that there will be blowback on the Dems. Michael Walsh views the attack on the Tea Party as testing for Obama’s re-election campaign, so it’s significant, even if John Hinderaker says they can’t sell it. Rick Santelli defends the Tea Party here.
By the way, after His Oneness gave his I’m-not-responsible-speech, the stock market went from 400 to 600 points down. Perhaps it knew more downgrades were coming?
Was George Soros the man who bet that downgrades were coming?
Easter reflections…
Begin with ABC’s Cokie Roberts insisting that people call His Oneness a Muslim because they can’t say they don’t like him because he’s black. Never mind that whites elected Obama. If that what Roberts actually believes? Who knows, but it’s certainly a convenient means of avoiding any discussion of why people might not like his policies or their results. Funny, though, I’ve heard the same position put forth against those who question whether Obama is a natural born citizen, or even those who wonder why he doesn’t produce his Birth Certificate.
The Obama White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and one on Earth Day, but none on Good Friday or Easter, neither of which merited mention in the President’s weekend address. The omissions probably won’t help His Oneness any with Catholic voters. I venture that his choice of church to visit for Easter Services being based on politics and race isn’t likely to help him much either, though for me it raises the question of why Obama thinks it necessary to shore up his base. And based on this report, the church was not the non-political event the White claimed, unless you believe that comparing Rush Limbaugh to the KKK has no political overtones.. Is His Oneness alarmed by his standing in recent polls?
Obama approval dropping…
Check out the Rasmussen poll, the Gallup poll, and the Quinnipiac University poll. Does this mean Americans are finally starting to wake up as their country is being destroyed?
I’d like to think so, but I’m not betting on it. Mainstream media is still the eager poodle of His Oneness and simply doesn’t report his flat-out lies. In fact, I think only FOX News reported on his whopper in Moscow about meeting his future wife in a college class, which simply is not true.
If the Bush White House had a garden which tested positive for lead, do you think this is the only story you would have seen about it? True, the major outlets did mention it in passing, but the focus was on the fact that the level was so low it posed no danger. And almost none of them mentioned that children had been working on the plot and eating things grown there. Eight months ago the headline would have read: “Bush tries to poison children!”
The most you’ll get on the Obama administration is such amusing bloopers as this .
Does Obama read polls?
There are some rather interesting polls just out, one from the New York Times, here, and another one done by pollsters Peter Hart and Bill McInturff, here.
Too many people still believe the deficit is entirely Pres. Bush’s fault, but appear to at least realize that Obama isn’t solving the problem. The politics involved with the health care proposals should help point out the real numbers.
Or perhaps someone will trot out this chart showing just how badly the Obama team misjudged the stimulus impact — if indeed any of them actually ever believed their own forecasts.
