Omnibus ousted!

leave a comment »

I happened to be watching TV when Sen.  Mitch McConnell held up a one-page continuing resolution on the Senate floor to compare it to the nearly 2,000-page omnibus spending bill.   It was a clever bit of political theater which made the point brilliantly.

At one point today I had a different senator’s number on speed dial on every phone in my house.   I know many others who were doing the same thing.  Our blitz of the Senate switchboard seems to have worked,  since Breitbart  is reporting that Harry Reid has now pulled the omnibus.     That means potential Republican supporters gt tired of having their ears peeled back by irate voters and Reid couldn’t get the votes he needed.   Power to the people,  indeed!

Principled opposition…

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell  lays out the case.   And here is Speaker-to-be John Boehner with  in the 5 speeches he has made on the  same point.   Here is Boehner’s letter to you.

Meanwhile,  His Oneness strikes a  much different tone with MoveOn.org than his still-adoring press claimed he did on Wednesday.
