Wise cop…
A New Jersey gym opened up to its members Monday morning in violation of Gov. Murphy’s orders. FOX News had host Pete Hegseth there as well as a camera crew. A police officer did appear, informed the crowd of about 200 that they were in volition of the governor’s order, then wished them all a nice day and waked away to the group’s loud approval. Similar scenarios are being repeated daily across the country, but in some cases, power-mad governors and mayors insist law enforcement arrest violators. No one has mentioned that the police units who showed up to face off with the Michigan protesters were not beat cops, but riot squads and SWAT teams, in full armament and gear. The reason they did nothing is that the protesters were armed.
We now know that Vitamin D increases our defenses against coronavirus, so getting outside in the sun and exercising improves not only our immune systems, but also our mental health. Multiple studies show that the coronavirus is far less transmissible outdoors. Democrats and other lock-down proponents are shifting the goal posts from not overwhelming the health system, to flattening the curve of new infections, to testing everyone, to having no new cases, to having a certain cure, to having everyone vaccinated. Don’t kid yourself — progressives don’t give a damn about you or your family as individuals, only as votes or a part of a group useful as campaign props, then discarded. You would matter much more if you were an illegal alien, because they’d be fairly sure you’d stay on the government plantation, unlike the ungrateful blacks and others who have escaped. Always remember that the goal is to have government be afraid of you, not for you to be intimidated by the government. That could loosely be called Irish democracy, when the people run over the government, or civil disobedience, which is so much more high-toned and is reserved for Antifa thugs and other groups the Left approves of.
The owner of this group of restaurants is being prosecuted, unconstitutionally in my view, by former Congressman Keith Ellison. one could conclude that Ellison’s being a Muslim would make him inimical to establishments favoring alcohol, But he has been quite happy to cheer on the street violence of Antifa. Normal Americans are beginning to rebel against overbearing government, and it is right that they should do so. It’s also high time.
Cal fires…
The fires are truly devastating, and yes, they are worse because of decades of incredibly stupid forest mismanagement by the State of California, but notice that only one of the heroes highlighted here was sent by the government.
Bill Clinton on Orlando…
I didn’t go searching for any pix of Bubba blasting something with a gun to see if he looked as out of his depth as His Oneness, but he apparently is not the smartest man in the room any longer. His contention that if patrons in the Orlando nightclub had been armed, more people would have died is laughable, but if everyone had simply thrown their drinks at the shooter, more of them would have lived. If the first twenty people had simply rushed Mateen after tossing their drinks at his head, some of them would have died, but fewer than did actually die by hiding and screaming.
Like every other liberal, the former president assumes that civilians with guns are ill-prepared lunatics who fire wildly at anything which moves. The truth is that the average gun owner is less likely to have a “bad shoot” than is someone in law enforcement. The ordinary gun owner uses his weapon in a defensive posture, not an offensive one, and that considered, judicious application of appropriate force stops and prevents harm thousands and thousands of times a year in the USA. The only reason to attempt to disarm citizens is to make them subjects. The Founders intended that we never be subjects again, and gave us the tools to prevent it, if we can summon the backbone and fortitude to use them.
A single bartender with a sidearm could have stopped Mateen in less than a minute. Don’t you think the families and friends of the 49 dead at Orlando would have preferred that outcome?
Carson schools pundit…
Presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson gave Face the Nation host John Dickerson a brief education in the purpose and goals of our Constitution. The only thing I would have added is to remind Dickerson that His Oneness held up Australia and Britain as examples of gun control, and since both nations actually confiscated guns, yes, there is at least one person who wants to disarm the citizens. In fact, all progressives and most liberals want to disarm us, but dare not say so, because the millions of gun owners in this nation would not comply, and would resist, as the Constitution intended.
Don’t mess with Rhine…
This is what used to happen in towns all across the country, before we were trained to let government professionals (an oxymoron if ever there were one) handle things.
Good for the brain…
Try to carve out an hour and 20 minutes to watch a symposium featuring Stephen Moore and Rep. Paul Ryan advocating that citizens should hold the authority over their health care plans and retirement dollars. It is understandable and makes sense in a way sound bytes seldom do.
Of course they are!
Why is anyone, other than the non-believing researcher, surprised to discover that religious Americans are nicer people and better citizens?
Mind of America…
Read this brilliant piece before you vote. In a few short paragraphs, John Hayward has set out precisely why the apparent chaos of America has worked so well, and will do so again if the statists can be driven back into the black holes from whence they come.
That’s your job, citizens.
Frank Rich can comfort himself all he likes with the thought that RINOs and DC will corrupt any actual conservatives who get elected this cycle, but it won’t happen this time. Too many people have been awakened, and they won’t be going back to sleep any time soon.
That’s also your job, patriots. BE THE HERO!
Ears and answers…
I have enjoyed watching clips of ordinary citizens standing up and demanding ears and answers from their Congress critters. I have also been entertained with talking heads from both sides who gravely opine that yelling and being rude offends the public and prevents real discussions. Rarely mentioned is the fact that Obama and the Democrats tried their damnedest to prevent open debate and discussion of anything to do with health care reform, let alone allow citizens any opportunity to be heard.
And I have laughed out loud as His Oneness told us to shut up, and his minions have thrown racist, evil-monger, un-American, dumber-than-Joe-the-plumber, unpatriotic, stupid — oh, I’m tired of typing all the garbage hurled at us. I find it astonishing that the smooth, cool Obama campaign has become so rattled that it thinks it appropriate for the president to act so unpresidential — so childish, really.
Lee Cary at American Thinker has a splendid column about Obama and the Democrat having encouraged the People’s Genie to come out of the bottle. If you read nothing else this week, read this and take heart!
And know that the White House, Democrats and elites are galloping through their repertoire of smear, ridicule, harassment, and intimidation to shut We the People up, to stuff that genie back in its quiet bottle of repose. It isn’t working. All they’ve accomplished is to make the genie angrier, citizens more suspicious, and worst of all — encouraged people to inform themselves with real information.
We aren’t there yet, but we’re walking towards my ultimate goal of making the government afraid of the citizens, which is how it should be. That is why the Founders gave us the Second Amendment, because they knew full well that an unarmed citizen becomes a subject, and that government by nature tends towards tyranny.
