Most people assume that the Internet bounces around on satellites,  if they think about it at all.   But the air actually carries only about 1%.   The truth  of how  information gets from point A to point B is quite interesting.

The only reason I knew that most of the traffic is carried by undersea cables is because I know one of the divers who earns a living maintaining and repairing them.   Do follow the link,  if for no other reason than you should know why the internet is vulnerable.
