Feline explanation…
There’s a new explanation of why cats are cats, since scientists have now proved that cats recognize their owners’ voices but choose to ignore them. Supposedly cats domesticated themselves, so don’t have the same bond to humans that dogs do. But canines self-selected for domestication by volunteering to experiment with the humans as part of the pack. I think it has more to do with the fact that cats have far more solitary tendencies than dogs do. I know of a handful of cats who come when called, and even a couple who hunt in pairs, but even those who live in multiple-cat homes tend to keep their own space.
