Soldier for a day…

The Make-A-Wish foundation made a Belgian  teen’s dream of  being a U.S. soldier come true.   The youth’s grandfather was a teen himself when American troops liberated his homeland from the Nazis.  Too bad so few of our youth learn anything remotely heroic about our military personnel in government schools.

Another school shooter…

The latest information  is here.  Nanny Bloomberg has already shoved  his oar in,  along with his mayoral  counterpart  in Boston,  just as Rush Limbaugh  noted.   The  shooter appeared  to have many problems,  some of which may have led him to  acts of evil,  but Obama’s call for “meaningful action” is  merely code for let’s disarm the populace so we needn’t worry about its reactions to my plans to finish my task of changing America.

Kindly note that the shooter,  whatever his emotional and mental problems were,  was intelligent enough to select a so-called gun-free zone,  not a police precinct.   Back in the dark ages when I attended high school,  practically every vehicle on the lot contained a couple of guns during hunting seasons.   A shooter on campus would have been brought down within minutes by either staff or students.   If just one person in the Colorado movie theater had been armed,  that shooter would have been stopped as well.  What anti-gun crusaders fail to grasp is that people who have exercised their Second Amendment rights extend the zone of protection to all those around them.  It isn’t a matter of heroics,  it’s not written in the gun license,  but it is an exercise of common sense and responsibility.
