Sharpie parties…

Sharpie parties are the newest form of social network-arranged vandalism, targeting foreclosed homes.  it’s apparently fairly easy to catch the instigators and many participants since they brag about it with photos included,  but since banks don’t want to use resources prosecuting the vandals,  police aren’t going to wast any resources on them either,  eventually.

So if you want a house at a really good price,  arrange your own Sharpie party,  but use a cheap marker which isn’t permanent.   Maybe the bank will just look at the damage,  leave it and drop the price to the level you prefer.

Chicago copper…

No, not a police officer,  but a City of  Chicago worker  at Midway Airport,  who apparently spent his breaks stealing 500 feet of copper wire from the runway.

Of course the Department of Aviation quickly claimed to say that none of the thefts impacted airport operations.   Do you believe that?
