Not so clean…
Well, well — the CEO of LightSquared has abruptly resigned, just days after the FCC suspended conditional approval of a waiver the company needed to complete its high-speed broadband network. Until recently, the final approval appeared imminent despite the military’s warning that the network would interfere with military operations, which has been known for quite a long time.
It appears the Daily Caller’s reporting on emails and documents indicating political ties and numerous meetings between LightSquared and Obama administration officials as the company was undergoing regulatory review are the proximate cause of the resignation, though none of that was mentioned.
Sanjiv Ahuja will remain as chairman of the board. But a new appointee to the LightSquared board is Philip Falcone, the CEO of Harbinger Capital Partners, which created LightSquared from its predecessor, SkyTerra. Such an intertwined bunch of companies and people seems to be the norm among the cronies of His Oneness and big donors to the Democrats…
