R.I.P. rocker….

leave a comment »

If like me,  your teeth clinched every time disco music came on,  you went trolling on the radio in the 1970s for something more pleasing to the ear.  You probably became a fan of the Atlanta Rhythm Section and its bluesy soft Southern Rock if you weren’t already.

Its former lead singer,  Ronnie Hammond,  died last week.  Aaron Goldstein has a  nice glance back and a link to one of their big hits which typified the smooth vocals and technical musical proficiency of a group to go along with interesting lyrics which I find have held up well over the intervening years.

Iran’s saucer…

leave a comment »

The Iranian regime seems incredibly stupid to be claiming it has developed a flying saucer,  which looks remarkably like one seen in an old American B movie.   Does the regime figure its people don’t have much access to our old film treasures?  Or that no matter how many times they get caught lying and cheating by bloggers,  they can just keep doing it because so many of their people will nevr know the truth?

The sad truth is that the Iranian power center may dress in modern garb,  but their mindset is 7th Century.
