Dept. of happiness…
I’ve long thought a certain disconnect from the real world was a feature of Ivy League presidents. Seems I’m right, and Jonah Goldberg at The Corner had the perfect observation in his book, Liberal Fascism.
Also at The Corner, Mike Potemra recommended a book-length essay on Eisenhower which I added to my summer reading list, which was already too long considering the amount of work I needed to do on the property.
I bring up this rumination from last summer because I am now assured that the madness has spread to other places. Oregon State University is trying to expel three of Dr. Arthur Robinson’s children from their graduate school programs and turn their research and projects over to others.
OSU is simply denying everything, but the university reportedly received $27 million in earmarked funding from Democratic Rep. Peter DeFazio and colleagues last session. Dr. Robinson is running as Republican for DeFazio’s seat. Gee, could there be a connection? As Sarah Palin says, you betcha. I’ve already called and politely expressed my opinion that the three Robinson children represent 95% of the total brainpower at OSU. Add your voices as well.
Japan suffering…
This is some video of the tsunami waves shot from a helicopter. Here are some still shots which show devastation on a scale hard to grasp. There is also a group of eyewitness videos.
Scientists are now debating whether the lunar phenomenon known as “supermoon” had anything to do with the tsunami.
And as if this weren’t bad enough, giant jellyfish have invaded Japan’s western coast, which is just more natural gloom to go along with the looming threat from the nuclear power plants. The progressives and eco-Nazis will rejoice at fresh evidence that nuclkear power is far too dangerous to be used in the U.S..
