Early next Tuesday,  weather permitting,  you have the opportunity to witness an event which last occurred 436 years ago.

This year’s winter solstice will coincide with a full lunar eclipse in a union which holds special significance for beliefs that tap into the energy of the winter solstice,  the shortest day of the year and a time that is associated with the rebirth of the sun.

You need not be a Wiccan to appreciate this rare event,  which you can begin watching  Monday night.
