Now NASA is certain…

NASA says it  now has  the data to state with certainty that Voyager 1 reached interstellar space about the time astronaut Neil Armstrong died last year,  which would certainly be fitting.   Who dared imagine when it was launched in 1977 that it would still be talking to NASA?  Even though it stopped  sending photographs  in 1990,  its nuclear power source will probably be exhausted in another decade or so, so we’ll have no way to know the moment this gallant piece of technology is eventually destroyed by gravitational forces.

Voyager 1 gone?
