ObamaCare and your pets…
If you missed me, my internet service was knocked out for a few days, but here I am, Big Girl curled up under my feet.
Some are calling the coming tax on veterinary supplies and equipment an unintended consequence of ObamaCare, but that simply isn’t true. His Oneness and the Democrats just didn’t give a damn what the consequences were for anyone so long as they were able to force the citizenry into the same single-payer, government-run system which has failed everywhere it has been instituted.
Translated, this means pet care will become more expensive, along with everything else in the consumer market. More pets will not receive the care they need, more pets will be thrown out, and the already crowded animal shelters will be overwhelmed. I’m down to just Big Girl, who is a lot of trouble, but well worth it for the protection she offers and her enthusiastic companionship. What I can tell you is that almost any brand of dry dog food will be adequate if you add a good-quality daily vitamin tablet, and you can bake your own dog biscuits inexpensively. There are several good recipes on the internet, and Big Girl actually prefers them because they are harder and she actually has to work at them a little bit. Adopt a previously owned dog if you can. Most of them will be house-trained and socialized to people, and they will be forever grateful that you rescued them from a noisy, frightening, bewildering place.
ObamaCare ups vet costs…
As if I didn’t already loathe this unconstitutional power grab of a sixth of the nation’s economy, one of the newly released I.R.S. regulations will make caring for your pets more expensive by taxing things such as exam gloves. This pertains to the ObamaCare taxes on medical devices. Be sure to thank all of your neighbors who voted for His Oneness and Our Lady of Expensive Vacations and Perpetual Dissatisfaction.
