Debunking Kwanzaa…
Is someone brings up the fake holiday of Kwanzaa, point them to this column and heap appropriate amounts of scorn on their witless heads. You can start with His Oneness.
UPDATE: You can add this devastating column by Ann Coulter as well.
Waterboarding explained…
Marc Thiessen nails the reason I seldom listen to people waxing hysteric about this particular enhanced interrogation technique. While others may use it to extract information on the spot, we use it to gain compliance. It works because it stimulates the human limbic system, over which we have virtually no control. It’s the control system which makes you move your hand because the stove is so hot, before the average person has time to process the sensory information with the conscious brain. And it doesn’t meet my criteria for being torture, although the people I know who have been waterboarded say it is an extremely unpleasant experience.
Pelosi’s torture…
Speaker Nancy Pelosi has taken so many different positions on what she knew about waterboarding that it has been hard to keep up. No wonder liberals are so fond of the word “evolve” . The Examiner has the best timeline on her stream of lies. When the WaPo reported that a top Pelosi aide learned about the technique in 2003, I figured the truth might come out. The best she can do now is claim a protest would have been improper in 2003, despite knowing Rep. Jane Harman did so.
Craig Smith explains why the matter does indeed make him feel less safe. I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that Sen. Jay Rockefeller is just as dishonest on the subject, and even Harry Reid has joined the scuffle. Interestingly, the Democrats’ thirst for investigations and criminal charges has noticeably decreased in the last few days.
Lisa Schriffen explains why Madam Speaker will get away with her bad acts, no matter what else is revealed. But this is perhaps the best summation.
Diminishing national security, Part I…
Well, on his first afternoon as President, Obama ordered Gitmo closed, and suspension of prosecutions. And he had DefSec Robert Gates announce the suspension.

Of course, Sen. Dianne Feinstein has already introduced legislation to close Gitmo. Next I suppose His Oneness will have Sec. Gates announce that only the Army Field Manual interrogation techniques will be used henceforth.
Now would be an excellent time to start calling/emailing/writing the White House asking what the President’s definition of torture is. All I ever got from the campaign was the customary liberal blather about the Geneva Conventions and vague international agreements, none of which actually define torture, so that it can mean anything anyone wishes it to.
And yes, I do have my own definition of torture: Any action which would cause a normal person to suffer long-lasting or permanent physical or mental damage.
