That is Greek for  “Come and take”.   It is a classical expression of defiance reportedly spoken by King Leonidas I in response to the Persian army’s demand that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae.   Think of it as the ancient equivalent of Charlton Heston’s famous “from my cold,  dead hands” for the NRA.

Colorado State Sen. Greg Brophy isn’t speaking Greek,  but  his comments on  the Colorado gun law are worth your time.   Colorado State   Rep. Rhonda Fields,  apparently didn’t realize that her bill would outlaw  practically every magazine currently for sale in the state,  not to mention prompt a manufacturer to leave the state.

At least  two sheriffs  in the state are standing with the Spartans.

UPDATE:   Now there are  more than  300 defenders.
