A classy mom…

Jacob Blake’s mother  seems a  very sensible,  level-headed woman.   She is condemning rioters and arsonists and telling them not to use her son’s name.  She respects trump as the president.   What I can not understand is how such a woman came to have a son who has come to such a sad end.   We do not know the full story yet.    Did he suffer from mental illness of some sort?  Had he gotten on a bad path he couldn’t get off of?

 

No trucks, no stuff…

If 77% of truck drivers say they will  not deliver  to far-left cities with de-funded police departments.  If we could get them all to say that,   peace might be restored,   because even radicals like their stuff.    Even better,  can we get them to say they won’t deliver to any city with riots and looting,  even if law enforcement is still funded?  Could the truckers do that?   Oh,  yeah.  Trucking companies all have clauses in their contracts that they can not be forced to deliver due to weather events or civil unrest.   Many of the independent truckers either haul under a company’s contract,  or have their own contracts with similar language,  which is standard under contract law.

As you are already aware,  far-left cities with funded law enforcement can still prevent police from doing their jobs or make them afraid to do so –  the Ferguson effect,  if you will.   You should also remember that  the unions  and progressive Democrats are as thick as thieves,  so it is almost impossible to get rid of the few bad cops.   That is by design on both the union’s and the politicians’ parts.   Unions get to beat their collective chests and claim to be sticking up for their members,  and the politicians whine that they have to follow the procedure.   Bear in mind that they agreed to the very procedures and processes  they claim so hinders them in their pursuit of good governance.

Unleash chaos…

Baltimore has been a troubled city for quite some time.   “While we tried to make sure that they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on,” the current mayor said of the protesters.   “We also gave those  who wished to destroy  space to do that as well.   And we work very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to de-escalate,  and that’s what you saw.”

Those are the words of Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, which the gangs and agitators have taken to mean absolute license for them to do as they please,  and they please to rampage and destroy.  She is trying to  walk back  the comment,  but seems quite unaware that she has opened up the city to lawsuits by those with damaged businesses and homes.   98% of the victims of crime in Baltimore are black,  as are the suspects,  as Sheriff David Clark just said on Neil Cavuto’s show.   In Ferguson,  outside agitators caused most of the violence,  but it as only three arrests have been made of non-residents,  it appears locals are mostly to blame.  Because Rawlings-Blake is black,  you  won’t see  the DOJ showing up to run over her and other local elected officials.   The previous mayor was also a black woman,  who had little success dealing with poverty and crime.   The mayor before that was one Martin O’Malley,  who went on to become governor of Maryland,  and is currently pretending he might challenge Hillary in the Democratic presidential primary.

Back to Her Honor.   She merely took a page out of the book of excuse and appeasement of His Oneness,  who was famously wrong on Henry Louis Gates,  Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown,  and continues to be wrong about Iran,  Russia,  Hamas,  Hezbollah, and most of the universe. Mr. Obama does not believe he has to obey the law,  so why should anyone else?   Calling out police in force after  the destruction is  well under way is a sign of weakness and incompetence.   How can anyone believe it is okay to allow violence and destruction?

Major news media outlets  have failed  to report one of the main leaders of the “splinter group” of Baltimore protesters who turned violent,  Malik Shabazz,  is a notorious racist and the former national chairman of the New Black Panther Party,  identifying him only as  “president of Black Lawyers for Justice.”

Baltimore  already has  eight  injured police,  and there will be more,  even if the  gang threat  isn’t carried out.   The police officers in whose custody Freddie Gray was so grievously injured will be judged.   Meanwhile,  those causing the trouble don’t give a damn about Gray or any of the citizens whose homes and businesses they are destroying.

I haven’t found a separate statement by His Oneness on the late Mr. Gray,  but the White House did announce it  was sending  Broderick Johnson,  chairman of the My Brother’s Keeper Task Force,  and two other aides to the funeral today.   They were unnecessary except to show Obama’s  “concern”,  and we didn’t need Rep. Elijah Cummings’  rant at  the funeral,  either.   Nor does the situation  require Al  Sharpton pouring fuel on the conflagration.

At some point one must ask if chaos is the Democrats’ desired outcome, based on the theory that sufficient pandemonium will so terrify the citizenry that they will agree to any government action,  no matter how egregious,  if promised safety.   It has happened before,  here and abroad,  because progressives have a totalitarian tendency which sticks out its ugly head despite their best efforts to cloak it in caring and demands for justice.   Look for martial law shortly,  since the police are being overwhelmed,  and the governor has signed an executive order calling out the National Guard.

UPDATE:  His Oneness is now  pledging help  for Baltimore after meeting with new Attorney General Loretta Lynch,  who is Eric Holder in a skirt.

 

Apology not accepted…

His Oneness apologizing for the improper destruction of desecrated Korans has gotten more American soldiers killed.  Charles Krauthammer says what  should have been done.

UPDATE:  The apology was so helpful,  the rioting  has spread to  other countries.

Bangkok nearing anarchy…

Bangkok is  coming apart at the seams,  with more civilian deaths on yet another day of rioting.   It is now literally  on fire after the surrender of protest leaders.
