There is some new and fascinating research on women and Alzheimers. A gene connected to this dreadful disease has been identified, but it seems to work differently in men than it does in women. Ther solution probably isn’t just around the corner, but now there are some excellent leads to follow.
Supercomputers discoveries…
Because they can process such a vast quantity of information in a fraction of the time a human would require, supercomputers can dig their way through thousands of pages of research and connect dots humans might never find. They are already proving useful tools in the medical field, so who knows what may be next?

and you might discover another... That is what has happened to 50 sharks and other fish in the Gulf of Mexico fitted with satellite-linked tags places by University of Miami researchers to record water temperature and salinity at different depths.
750 animals have been tagged in the past decade, but scientists this year realized the temperature figures coming back from the animals could be crucial to humans living in the path of hurricanes.
Cockroach rescuers?
I suppose if I required rescue from a collapsed building I wouldn’t care if if a cockroach was the one to locate me, but it would be nice to know that research had finally found a use for the nasty little beasts.
