Rep. Hastings is underpaid…

At least   he thinks  he is,  despite having a highly checkered past which would render him unemployable in most of the private sector.   His complaint about the high cost of living in D.C was devoid of irony,  thus proving he doesn’t understand that he is a large part of the cause of it since the District has become a place where you spend other peoples’ money instead of your own.

Like all other progressives,  he fails to grasp that reality attaches actual consequences to one’s actions.   I wonder if he would promise to work less if his salary and obscenely generous benefits were cut…

UPDATE:  This explains  why Hastings needs more money,  and makes it obvious that the problem is his past,  not the cost of living.

Why we loathe Congress…

If Rep. Alcee Hastings didn’t work for Congress,  and supposedly for the people of his district in Florida, who the hell would hire him?  He was already a former federal judge impeached and removed from the bench.   What other institution has rules so lax and fluid that if you’re a Democrat and on the Rules Committee,  you are not in breach of House rules even if you  sexually harass  women?

Dear voters of District 20, which includes parts of Broward,  Palm Beach, and Hendry Counties:  your congressman is currently serving his 11th term in Congress.   Surely you deserve and can find a better representative than this louse.   Please do the nation and favor and vote him out of office.
