#SayHisName…
This past week a 5-year-old North Carolina boy named Cannon Hinnant was shot in the head in front of his 7- and 8-year-old sisters by 25-year-old Darius Sessoms. The victim was white and the shooter was black, sparking the above hashtag to trend on social media Thursday morning, since national media has ignored it because it doesn’t fit the narrative that they have chosen. FOX News was the exception, as it often is. The shooter lived next door to the victim’s father, and had dinner with him the night before the murder. Just imagine how much you’d know about this incident if the races were reversed…
On what might be considered a plus side, if there is any to be found in this senseless murder, Cannon’s grandmother started a GoFundMe account to help cover the cost of his funeral and burial. That fund now has over $700,000. I believe this means his two sisters will go to college and the entire family will rise above this tragedy.
Comeuppance…
I think Jorge Ramos is an uppity, snide, anti-American elitist. He has been Univision’s star anchor for years, an apologist for some of the most awful people in the world. Did he think Venezuela’s Maduro would tolerate any truth being shown during the big interview? Jorge was treated quite gently — merely jailed, robbed of all his expensive equipment, and deported. The question is: will he admit to his own blindness, or will he manufacture some more excuses?
Bigoted news…
Longtime political journalist Stuart Rothenberg, apparently in hysterics now that the governor of West Virginia has announced he’s leaving the Dems to become a Republican, has sent out a series of tweets bashing the citizens of the state as illiterate lay-abouts. ABC and NBC were apparently too traumatized to even report on the party switch.
As John Nolte at the Daily Wire notes, all of Rosenberg’s smears were lies, and easily proven to be so. I very much doubt Rothenberg has ever set foot much outside of New York and D.C., much less actually in West Virginia. I have, and much of it is very pretty country with very nice people with mostly Southern manners, though they alertly are a bit wary of Yankees as are most Southerners with any serse of history and good sense. If my memory serves, Rothenberg wrote last year that Republicans needed to get past immigration as a political issue if they wanted to attract enough non-white voters to win anything. When I’m not too lazy to look up the exact quote, I shall email it to him so he can chew on it for a while.
CNN face plant…
CNN spent all last week warning that Trump would not confront Putin over election meddling. You could hardly turn on the channel without seeing these chyrons. And then he did bring it up…..oops, move along now, folks…
CNN is moving from the Clinton News Network to the Clown Not News Network at warp speed these days.
What would you expect?
Seriously, an alligator finds a dead human plane crash victim in the Everglades and a news chopper crew is appalled that the gator is taking advantage of the gift of a food source? And the station’s managing editor thinks gators chew their food like dogs going after a bowl of kibble? Where do these people come from?
Who suspected…
…that the New York Times might have some dignity left to save? John Crudele did, and it’s worth your time.
FOX is the real target…
Yes, Bill O’Reilly is cantankerous and a bit arrogant, but he’s not stupid. Everyone who works at FOX knows that MSM and the usual progressive gnomes are ever vigilant for any of them to make the slightest mistake, and that when few are found, things are simply made up. It can’t be pleasant for FOX to continually beat your brains out on viewership, ratings, and profitability.
O’Reilly is just the most convenient target because he evokes such a powerful response.
Arnaud de Borchgrave, R.I.P.
Longtime foreign correspondent and Washington Times editor Arnaud de Borchgrave has died. What a contrast he is to Brian Williams and the other talking-head celebrities we have now.
