Against the tide…
Jay Nordlinger has done an interesting series of commentary on our culture, which has now descended to the lowest common denominator. Part I is here. Go here for Part II. The final installment is here.
Someone did a study of cattle and found that they tended to separate into three groups. The cattle had been tagged as to whether they were bold, timid, or in the middle. The study found that the bold group went first, willing to take on what they met. The timid group went second, in the perfect position to run away if necessary, while offered protection from a rearward attack by the remaining group.
People are not so dissimilar. Not many of us are bold enough to tackle the problem head on and suffer the name-calling, the disapproval, or the hatred, which is real. But all of us can make a difference in our own homes, within our own circle of friends. You can be a living example, all by yourself, and you will be surprised by how much support you’ll receive if you tell family and friends what you are doing and why.
I’ve gotten a couple of death threats over the years, and more than a few nasty letters. That tells me I’ve stepped on some of the right toes and pushed some of the correct buttons. They don’t worry me, because I’m alert, aware, and well-protected. I don’t expect anyone else to invite such attention. I do expect each and every one of you to do what you can, because it matters, to you and your family and children. Unless, of course, you want your children to be Julia to His Oneness, whores of the government, slaves to the largest, cruelest master of them all.
