California blues…

Vox Media has just laid off hundreds of  freelance writers  because  the new “gig economy” law intended to target Uber and Lyft has caught a lot of other occupations in its sticky web.   Allowing independent contractors smacks of freedom,  and progressive Californians don’t approve of anything which they don’t control.   Their spit-out-your-coffee excuse is that it’s better to have fewer jobs but which offer higher pay and benefits.

The writers are firing back.   It seems the Golden State’s politicians exist merely to make residents suffer…
