Remembering Leonard…

Remember the charmingly humorous obituary of Leonard smith,  about which I  wrote here?   Former First Lady Barbara Bush does,  and she honored the late veteran’s request to  cancel subscriptions  to the New York Times.

Leonard Smith, R.I.P.

I had never heard of Leonard Smith until I read this obituary,  but I believe I would very much have enjoyed knowing him,  if this   splendid obituary  is anything to go by.   Assuming his children authored the obit,  it’s fair to say that they certainly inherited many of his fine qualities,  chief amongst them a deliciously wry sense of humor.
