Too much dirt,  too many flubs  have exacted their toll  on a conservative candidate who hadn’t done enough homework.  I hope he’ll still be visible and loud.

Trust, but don’t verify…

The Obama Administration  has turned the old  Reagan maxim on its head.   I suspect that, even with his lack of foreign policy experience,  presidential candidate Herman Cain would not think America and Russia share even a single  foreign policy goal.   If His Oneness actually thinks his scripted words will change Russian minds,  he’s dangerously stupid.

Lynching by media…

Do I believe Herman Cain sexually harassed anyone?  No,  I’m not inclined to,  because I worked for a large corporation with a long habit of settling lawsuits even when they were completely without merit.   Employees and lawyers know which corporations are likely to settle suits,  and they earn a nice living working such targets.   Corporate counsel are reluctant to fight frivolous suits,   because of  the expense and publicity,   even though there is ample evidence that doing so pays off handsomely after a few wins.

The fact that the latest accuser has a name and face is negated by the fact that she is under Gloria Allred’s classless,  tasteless,  media-hogging tutelage.

So I hope Toby Harnden  is right.

Raising Cain…

The smears against  Herman Cain continue,  innuendos and allegations a-flying, which cheapens political discourse, whether true or not.   I’m inclined to think there was nothing I’d classify as sexual harassment,  for the simple reason that if Mr. Cain were an habitual offender,  like Bill Clinton,  we’d have heard of it before.  I’ve worked for large corporations which routinely settled what they termed nuisance laswsuits because that was cheaper than defending them.

Here’s another reason to discount the smear campaign — look at what Henry Kissinger says Mr. Cain did differently from  all the other candidates.

Be very afraid…

The Left does  indeed fear Herman Cain,  and for more reasons than  his sunny appeal.   And A. F. Branco shows us what many voters think when comparing Cain to Mitt  Romney.
