Finally, some good news from the Gulf. Which brings me back to the question of why the hell they didn’t put a new cap on the day after the first one didn’t work…

The New York Post correctly describes the Obama Administration’s response as a pr offensive. This video shows that the feds knew it might be bad, yet Janet Napolitano has waited 11 days to appoint someone to head up the operation, and apparently that was partly in response to Louisiana Governor Jindal’s criticism of the FEMA response. The L. A. Times also weighs in.
When I heard that swat teams had been sent to other rigs in the Gulf, I immediately wondered if they suspected sabotage. Other than Rush Limbaugh and Canada Free Press, no one seems willing to mention this potential angle.
