Wealth-eaters…
In a fiery speech to House Democrats, Obama ridiculed the GOP’s characterization of the stimulus package as merely another spending bill.
“What do you think a stimulus is? That’s the whole point. No, seriously, that’s the point,” Obama said at the retreat in Williamsburg, VA.
We’re supposed to applaud a bill for $837 billion which CBO has said will do more damage than good long-term? And that’s not including interest, which brings it closer to $1.4 trillion? A bill which doesn’t address the underlying problems, and rewards the incompetent and wasteful, while penalizing the thrifty and wise?
Democrats don’t understand the difference between work, which the government creates, and jobs, which the government is lousy at creating. The private sector creates jobs well when Congress and the government get the hell out of the way.
Obama is a wealth eater, as are all the members of his Cabinet. Not one of them has ever had a real job in the real world where they had to hire and fire, and meet payroll, and try to fend off government interference. None of them has the faintest clue how wealth is created, but they are all expert at destroying private wealth.
Both of the Obamas have referred to people getting a slice of the pie, and that they believe the size of the pie is static. In order for me to have more, someone else must have less, because there is only so much to go around. They are incapable of understanding that the pie can indeed become larger, which benefits everyone.
Real numbers don’t make a dent in their belief, nor does logic, because they must see government as the ultimate pie slicer. Without that foundation, their worldview develops some nasty cracks which let slivers of reality in. That is why His Oneness can claim that the stimulus bill contains no earmarks, when it is one giant earmark. That is how he can decry Pres. Bush’s deficit spending, while proposing to double or triple it within a month.
