Moratorium misleading…
His Oneness is claiming that the drilling moratorium hasn’t hurt anyone. Chris Horner tips us to Heritage’s David Kreutzer, who properly demolishes that idiotic notion.
I’ve linked you to Chris’s piece because he provides some helpful reminders about the various disasters foisted upon us by a host of greenies.
Another rig explodes…
Another oil rig in the Gulf has blown up. Since all crew have apparently been accounted for, I’ll just say that this is the perfect excuse for His Oneness to keep, and even extend, the drilling moratorium.
UPDATE: More information, from the Wall Street Journal.
UPDATE: Well, it didn’t take long for me to be able to say I told you so, did it?
Jindal sues…
The Louisiana governor filed suit to lift the Obama Administration’s six-month moratorium against deepwater drilling, about which it lied on the experts’ opinions. The White House is appealing, of course, but do they really want the court to reiterate that the government failed to justify the ban and misled the public? That its actions were arbitrary and overbearing?
As Chris Horner details, Jindal has been successful, at least temporarily, but it’s a long way from over, as you’ll understand after reading Horner’s book, Power Grab. Until you do, feast your eyes on a post featuring a Capitol Hill source noting that the Minerals Management Service under the proposed budget of His Oneness will lose $2 million in funding for environmental reviews.
The budget will also cut 1,100 U.S. Coast Guard positions, in addition to ships, aircraft and helicopters. Of course, you won’t need security teams if all MMS is doing is pushing alternative energy.
