Backward!

Having been walloped by Republicans for hours,  Democrats have now amended the platform to include a mention of God and one of Jerusalem.  The problem is that the voice vote did not actually pass —  the chair simply ruled that it had,  and you  can hear the  boos.    If that link is down due to traffic,  you can go here.   You can decide for yourself what was being booed,  but the anti-Israel sentiment in the party is large,  as you  can see from  these photos taken by NRO’s Daniel Foster.  Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has also  been caught lying  about Israel saying Republicans were bad for Israel,  and despite the evidence of a clear audio tape,  is now claiming she never said it.

I loved Daniel  Foster’s comment.   Bear in mind that His Oneness approved his party’s platform,  so the campaign’s claim that he personally  insisted the words be added back in don’t ring true.  And notice that none of the previous language about various other matters,  such as Palestinians having no right of return, are still missing.

And the head of the South Carolina delegation  compared his state’s governor  to Hitler’s mistress.   What else do you expect from a party convention  featuring these buttons,  and which lionized an alcoholic senator who really was responsible for the death of a woman?

Oh —  don’t expect  a balloon drop  Thursday night.  There’s little chance they can come up with 100,000 inflated red,  white,  and blue balloons on such short notice,  and there is zero  chance the fire marshals will let them set off the fireworks planned for the outdoor venue.
