Mike Adams, R.I.P.

I read with sorrow that Mike Adams had been found dead at his North Carolina home.  He was due to retire August 1 from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington,  where he was a professor of criminology,    In case you don’t know,  UNCW is a cesspit of Marxist beliefs,  and at first I couldn’t fathom how a conservative Christian could bear to teach there.   You will also understand after  reading this  article.    He proved a constant thorn in the university’s academic side,  and someone was always having hysterics about something he had written or a view he had espoused.   One of his  colleagues could  not resist the temptation to call him a slew of unpleasant names,  none of which were actually accurate.   I suppose he resented the university having to pay Mike a cool half a million bucks for having lied to him,  and about him.

A number of true conservatives  have chimed  in with praise for the pugnacious professor,  all richly deserved.   You know you have won when a university admits it was trying to deny you tenure because it disagreed vehemently with your opinions!   Of course that is all it was,  and UNCW made a right ass of itself trying to pretend otherwise.   It had to pay $700,000+ in legal fees in addition to everything else.

I am grateful that Townhall gave him a space to write in,  though he used many other outlets.   We were only occasionally correspondents,  but he never struck me as weary of the war,  or dispirited by the constant assaults by his students and colleagues.   I find his death as curious as it is unexpected,  but he was a happy warrior whose faith never wavered.  So pick up the torch he left for you and carry on!

UPDATE:  Since the mud-flinging against Mike Adams has now begun in earnest,  I thought you might profit from hearing from those  who knew  him well.
