I don’t know if I’ll see the movie,  but at  least the trailer  isn’t a hymn to His Oneness on taking out bin Laden.

Some friends…

First,  the SEALS should have blown up all of the damaged chopper in the bin Laden compound,  including the tail section.  Those who have said the tail section could not be safely blown up are idiots.  I asked an explosives expert I know,  and he just laughed and said a small shaped charge would have destroyed anything useful in the tail.   So the SEALS screwed up that part of the operation.

The minute I learned the tail section had survived,  I figured the Pakistanis  would sell access  to the Chinese,  which they did,  and that instead of allowing the military to put a missile on it,  His Oneness would wring his bony hands and whine,  which he did.

Why is anyone surprised by either action?

Obama panders, Osama pronounces…

Shortly after Obama landed in Saudi Arabia,  Al Jazeera TV released an audio tape of Osama bin Laden,  who referenced the recent violence in Pakistan’s Swat Valley,  indicating that the message was recorded relatively recently.

The White House response ?    That Al-Qaeda was trying to distract from Obama’s speech in the Middle East.    Yeah,  that must really terrify bin Laden.

Having previously claimed that the US is not a Christian country, even though its citizens overwhelmingly are,  His Oneness has now said it is important to note that  “if you actually took the number of Muslim Americans,  we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world”.    Our math-and-truth challenged president is about 50 places off on that one,  as Toby Harnden reports.    Obama also doesn’t know or care that Americans don’t share his affection for Muslim countries.  Gee,  I wonder why?

Think back to the presidential election — anyone who dared utter Obama’s middle name was instantly declared racist/bigoted/Islamophobe/hatemonger.    Now that his Muslim heritage might be useful,  the White House no longer considers the subject verboten, though you won’t get anyone to admit Obama was born a Muslim,  as indicated by all three of his given names.

Of course,  his references to “the Muslim world” are extremely unhelpful,  as only the Muslim extremists wish to convert the entire world to a new Muslim caliphate.    I know that.    Why doesn’t His Oneness?    Why does no one at State point it out?   It’s all part of Obama’s arrogance and ignorance –  if he doesn’t believe it,  it doesn’t exist.

By the way, Martin Kramer,  who has a splendid site on the Middle East, reports the administration seems to have rejected Israel’s request for AH-64D Apache Longbow Attack Helicopters  to use for counterterrorism activity.    This refusal will cost the lives of more Israel troops and Palestinian civilians.    But the administration has just notified Congress that it plans to sell the same choppers to Egypt.
