Walpin vs. Obama…
If you don’t know who Gerald Walpin is, Michelle Malkin tells y0u here , and how the AmeriCorps Inspector General was fired for doing his job when it came to Obama cronies.
The White House has offered several explanations, most recently that Walpin is a confused old codger who was too addled to do the job. But the Washington Examiner has come up with a witness who refutes that verson. I’ve watched Mr. Walpin in several media interviews, and he was neither confused nor meek . His Oneness has made a grave error in taking on a man who actually has principles and is willing to act on them. That is not the Chicago way which he and Michelle are so accustomed to.
Now the White House doesn’t want to discuss the matter at all, even with Sen. Chuck Grassley, who also wants information on the firing of two other IGs. Rep. Darrell Issa has also become curious.
In an unguarded moment of honesty, Sen. Claire McCaskill, a staunch Obama ally, admitted he had violated the recent law on IGs which she co-sponsored, but quickly accepted the fraudulent letter from Norman Eisen, Special Counsel to the President for Government Ethics and Reform.
And the Washington Times has found another reason for His Oneness to be anxious to be rid of the pesky Walpin.
HotAir has more , and don’t miss this blistering piece by Quinn Hillyer and this one .
Civilian force arises…
The House has come up with the solution to unemployment — make everybody work for the government! The GIVE Act doesn’t mandate your volunteer service, but this article makes it clear that’s coming.
The key point is that it provides for determining whether a “mandatory” program should be adopted, and it obviously already knows the answer since it gos on about uniforms and a public service academy.
I have read dozens of laws and proclamations from communist and socialist countries over the years, and there is little difference between them and the GIVE Act.
Americorps is already touting its funding under the recovery act, here.
As I recall, His Oneness promised to expand the paid volunteer program from 75,000 to 250,000. The House has already passed a bill to do that as well as create additional “service” programs, and Senators Kennedy and Grassley have a similar bill in the Senate.
Activist groups like ACORN end up placing the “volunteers” into their own programs, which have a lot to do with lobbying for more federal money, and damned little to do with actually helping people or communities. It’s also a dandy opportunity to further brainwash the youngsters into believing that the government is the arbiter of doing good.
This is about as dangerous as the economic measures the Obama administration wants to take. Remember that Obama’s pal, domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, has been trying to do from the inside of the educational system via propaganda for years that which he failed to do from the outside with violence.
UPDATE: Even the San Francisco Examiner detects the odor of Big Brother.
